CHARACTERISTICS
UG30/mP30 is an electronic control for full management of precision air conditioners, for both chilled water (CWCW/S) and direct expansion (DX-DX/S) versions with 1 or 2 compressors. The control consists of a user interface and a power circuit, both fitted inside a single container. The display shows the units operating status and main parameters by means of symbols and alphanumeric codes consisting of one letter and one number: 1, 2: r1, r2 : c9, CA: F9, FA: P1, P2: H1, H2: probe parameters; adjustment parameters (e.g. r1 = cooling set-point); compressor management parameters; fan management parameters; alarm management parameters; general configuration parameters.
All control parameters are set in the factory according to the type of unit and configuration; programming is effected by a hardware key or via a serial line. To change parameters, the operator may use the keyboard on the front panel. USER or FACTORY parameters are available depending on whether they are accessible to the user or reserved for authorised personnel. OPTIONAL CIRCUITS
UG30/mP30 is designed to be use with the following optional circuits: - RS485 serial circuit making it possible to connect the control to a supervision or remote assistance network; - Clock circuit, allows the user to see date and time, indispensable for operating programmes linked to time (time bands and memorising of the time and date of an alarm event). RS485 SERIAL CIRCUIT To use UG30/mP30 in an RS485 supervision system or remote assistance network, the optional RS485 circuit must be fitted as follows: - cut power to the unit - disconnect the connectors from terminal boards "1", "2" and "3"; - unscrew the rear cover of the control; - fit the RS485 circuit on the connector at the rear of the control; - break the plastic protection to allow access to terminals GND, RX/TX+, RX/TX-; - re-position the cover and connectors; - make the serial line connection observing the indicated polarities; - power up. Set the UG30/mP30s address in the network with parameter Ho and the speed with parameter HP (see paragraph REMOTE CONTROL OF UNIT . Consult manual for Supervision Systems. CLOCK CIRCUIT To enable the clock, time bands and the alarm historic record function, fit the optional circuit and follow the procedure below: - cut power to the unit - disconnect the connectors from terminal boards "1", "2" and "3"; - unscrew the rear cover of the control; - fit the clock circuit on the connector at the rear of the control; - re-position the cover and connectors; - power up. - set date and time and delete the alarms historic record. HUMIDIFIER INTERFACE CIRCUIT CP1 The CP1 electronic circuit is fitted on the electrical panel of the unit. It enables the management of the humidifier and signals any alarm statuses. The circuit is not provided with a display, and, therefore, signals are produced by lighting of coloured LEDs.

HARDWARE CONFIGURATION
The units control programme must be adapted to the unit in which it is installed and therefore it must be configured. During this phase it is important to define all the elements that are part of the unit and that the Microprocessor will have to control. Normally this operation is performed when the Control programme is installed on the unit, this operation is performed in the FACTORY during final commissioning. It may however be necessary to modify the Control programme due to variations carried out on the unit.

ALARM
Delay of low/high temperature/humidity alarm at start-up. This establishes the delay in recognising low/high temperature and humidity alarms at UNIT start-up. N.B.: The low humidity alarm is delayed at humidifier start-up. This is to avoid a low humidity alarm when a possible humidifier alarm is reset. General alarm delay. This establishes the activation delay of the ID5 general alarm. This establishes the delay in recognising the flow alarm from start of fan. This establishes the delay in recognising the flow alarm while the fan is operating. This establishes the delay in recognising the low pressure alarm at compressor start-up to allow reaching a stable situation.

SERIOUS ALARMS
Two different types of alarm warnings are available: "serious " and "non-serious" alarms (see section "DESCRIPTION OF ALARM CODES "). In a configuration with more than one unit connected, serious alarms trigger the activation of the DO7 relay and therefore the activation of the unit in stand-by. In a configuration with no unit rotation, the FACTORY parameters HA and HF can be changed, in such a way as to have two different alarm signals: - "serious alarms" through the general alarm relay DO6; - "non-serious alarms" through the dehumidification relay DO7 (CW/S and DX/S only). 2 = alarm relay for not critical alarms (follows the logic set through the parameter HF)
HF 3 = output for rotation control Alarm relay logic: 0 = de-energise in alarm for all the alarms 2 = de-energise in alarm only for the serious alarms 0 3 0 2
ACTIVE ALARMS
When an alarm occurs, the control performs the following actions: displays the symbol and the alarm code; de-energize the DO6 relay (general alarm); the relays functioning logic, normally energised or de-energised, and the alarm category that activates this relay is set by the HF parameter (default equals 0); (in AMICO CW/S and DX/S units, if HA is set to 2) relay D07 de-energised (non-serious alarm); relay logic, normally energised or de-energised, is defined by parameter HF (default setting is 0); ; lights up the red light of key activates the buzzer (if the USER P4 parameter is set at a value other than zero).

ALARM
Establishes buzzer activation time in case of an alarm: 0 = OFF (buzzer always disabled) 1-14 = the buzzer is automatically silenced after P4 minutes have elapsed. 15 = continuous. The buzzer remains active until the alarm situation ceases (on automatic reset) or for as long as the Alarm push-button is pressed.

READING OF THE ALARMS HISTORIC RECORD (with optional clock card only)
When an alarm occurs, the following are automatically stored in the memory: alarm code, hour, minute and date on which alarm occurred, up to a maximum of 300 signalling operations. To view the list of stored alarms, enter the AIPG menu: the code of the last alarm occurring is shown and, if you press repeatedly the hour, minute and date.

DELETION OF ALARMS HISTORIC RECORD If you access programming mode with the USER password and reach the AIPG menu, you can delete the entire alarms historic record by simultaneously pressing keys and for 5 seconds. This operation re-initialises the clock card EEprom and must be performed when installing the card itself. When you have cleaned the alarms page, the "- - - - dashes are shown. The displayed alarm codes are those shown in the following chapter; some special codes are also included to report the following events: Code PrOn RES Meaning UNIT started after power failure Manual reset of alarms by Alarm key.
37 (44)
CLoC: clock alarm faulty An alarm generated by a malfunctioning clock card. It causes an interruption of the hour-bands and the regulator goes into ON status even if it is commanded to OFF by the current band. This event does not shut down the alarms historic record function, which continues recording the signals, but with incorrect time values. SP:A external general alarm Alarm configurable with parameters Pb and PC. TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY LIMITS EXCEEDED These are signal-only alarms linked to an excess in the set temperature and humidity levels. Restart Code Description High room humidity alarm. Automatic HI:RH Low room humidity alarm. Automatic LO:RH High room temperature alarm. Automatic HI:Rt Low room temperature alarm. Automatic LO:Rt
The thresholds are defined by FACTORY parameters P6, P7, P8, P9 according to the following diagrams. They are ignored during UNIT start-up for a time period equal to the PA parameter (see paragraph DELAYS DUE TO ALARM SIGNALLING). The alarm is tripped if the set threshold is exceeded for at least one minute.

A:FL Airflow alarm or optional Fire/smoke detector alarm The alarm can be delayed by parameters P1 and P2 and causes all devices to switch off immediately. CI:F1 dirty filter Signal only alarm. To reset it, reset the filter hour-counter (USER parameter Fc). CO:FA: delivery (or cooling function) high temperature alarm It is read by the B4 delivery temperature sensor when the cooling function is active, but the difference between the delivery air temperature and room temperature is lower than the value defined by the Pd parameter (default 3C). The alarm has a fixed delay set at 4 minutes and is tripped only if the cold actuators are ON (at least one compressor ON or refrigerated water valve open by more than 50%) and the hot actuators are OFF. When this alarm is noted, it shuts down only the compressor that is ON (running at that moment) , while the second compressor remains enabled. Ct:H compressor thermal breaker alarm Causes instantaneous shut-down of the compressor. Ff:H fan thermal breaker alarm Causes instantaneous shut-down of all devices. HE:OH heating elements thermal breaker alarm Causes instantaneous shut-down of the heating elements. HP:C1-HP:C2 circuit 1 or 2 high pressure Causes immediate shut-down of the compressor without respecting the relevant times. HU:FA humidifier alarm Alarm delayed by 30 seconds. This is detected by the CDA3403 card and is transmitted to the UG30 control which disables the U1 humidifier output. LP:C1-LP:C2 circuit 1 or 2 low pressure This alarm is detected only if the compressor is ON and is ignored during the first 180 seconds from compressors start. It causes immediate shut-down of the compressor without respecting the relevant times.

SE:1F room temperature sensor fault. Alarm delayed by 1 minute from the moment when the UNIT is turned ON and from when the error is detected. When the error is detected, all components, except the fan, are turned OFF, respecting the configured times with the exception of fan time. SE:2F external air sensor fault. Alarm delayed by 1 minute from the moment when the UNIT is turned ON and from when the error is detected. When the error is detected, all functions (summer/winter switch-over) associated with the sensor are disabled. SE:3F humidity sensor. Alarm activates when the sensor is disconnected (if the input is configured as 420mA) and for currents that are lower than 3 mA or above 23 mA. Alarm delayed by 1 minute from the moment when the UNIT is turned ON and from when the error is detected. When the error is detected, all functions associated with the sensor (humidification, dehumidification) are disabled SE:4F delivery air temperature sensor.
