You will create a system for the school theatre. You will set up and use a spreadsheet to calculate profits made, set up seating plans and ticket printing. You will be responsible for putting together publicity material and there is a car park barrier to control. You will look at the system as a whole and decide on the most efficient way of carrying out tasks. When complete you will produce a user guide.

Control

Level 5 I have identified sensors suitable for monitoring the car park and explained how they will be used. I have selected the information needed in the financial model and entered formulae that give the correct output. I have set up statistics to record free seats and show how fully booked the theatre is as soon as seats are booked. I have set up tickets that show seat numbers. I have devised and used criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of publicity for the audience. I have designed and created a suitable database file to store customer data.

Level 6 I have independently designed, tested and refined a flowchart to monitor/ control conditions in the car park I have developed a working financial model without any help from my teacher.

Finance model

Seating Plan and tickets

I have put together a seating plan that allows seat bookings to be recorded. I have produced tickets that show the appropriate data.
Marketing

I have linked the seating plan to the financial model so that it updates sales when seats are booked. I have set up a system whetre tickets are printed when they are booked. I have used feedback from the target audience to improve my publicity materials. I have used a database file to automate processes (e.g. using mail merge to target customers). I have a user guide that is in sections and includes screen shots of my work. I have created a report that shows how the whole system could be more efficient.

I have planned and created publicity materials that use images and text suitable for the target audience. I have evaluated my publicity materials to make sure they are fit for purpose and the target audience.
User Guide & Report

I have created a report that explains my conclusions on the feasibility of the project.
