Accusations are probably "stronger"; you need some kind o proof (like blood test results in Lance Armstrong's case). Allegations are claims without proof What other things can one's life revolve around? Children, money, tennis (or other hobby) Why can someone be banned from driving? You may need to clarify that to be banned from something is not the same as to ban something (e.g. a book, a film).
