Power of Mantra Now many people in this group are taking interest in learning Vedic Astrology and in a very proper manner too. So it is right time to reveal the secret of learning Vedic Astrology. Astrology is divine science so you need blessings of your Guru, Lord Ganesh and other gods. I am suggesting you to recite the following mantras to recite one mala daily. Om Gurave Namah Om Gang Ganpataye Namah There are some more mantras but you will not have so much time for it so I am suggesting you only two. Those who do not have any Mala (like Tulsi etc.), they may use "Kar Mala". "Kar" means hand so you will use your hand to count the number Mantras. You should use your right hand to count mantras. You should use your thumb for counting like in the picture given below,

Note :- You should avoid putting thumb on lines and tip of fingers. When you complete one cycle of ten, use your left hand and its thumb in the same manner to count one cycle. when you have completed the 10 cycle or 10 x 10 = 100 times (menas you have recited the Mantras 100 times till now) you would have completed the 10 points on left hand too.

Now remove thumb from left hand and count the balance 8 Mantras in the following manner.

Now you one Mala of 108 Mantras is complete. So you do not need any type of mala to recite the mantras. Kar Mala is very very powerful too. Important :- After some months you will see the difference in your vision. There will be unbelievable changes in you learning capacity - UNBELIEVABLE UNBELIEVABLE UNBELIEVABLE CAPACITY TO LEARN VEDIC ASTROLOGY. IT IS MY PROMISE. with regards sushil dikshit

Other Discussions 1. Message No 1110, 1111 - The numebrs in the right and the left hand start at
different places. Is this intentional??? Answer - You have not read the message carefully. Both pictures are of right hand only(Watch carefully). Till 10 cycles or 100 times your have to follow the first picture and remaining 8 are to be counted like given in the second picture. On right hand you should count no. of Mantras recited while on the left hand you should count no. of cycles. It is prescirbed in Vedic Parampara. So in Kar Mala you must count in the same way. You cannot count mantras in any other way otherwise it will not be fruitful.

Kindly advise. Answer Yes - you can use kar mala for normal day to day mantra meditation. There is no restriction. Regards, Sailen

Adaraniya Susheelji, I found this meaning of this mantra and how it works in some of the vedic books which I would like to share with all. "Om shleem dhleem jyotirbraahmayanamah". shleem is made up of beejaksharas, sha, la, ee.The letter La is "Ida" nadi. Dhleem is made up ofbeejaksharas, dha, la, ee, Again, this is "Ida" nadi. This is apure ida nadi mantra. Beejaksharas activate various nadi joints. They helpremove obstructions in these nadi jointsand energy flow across these nadis smoothly. The first letter "dhaor dhi" is important for intellect. stands forthe "Pingala" nadi - Right side structured/mathematical approach- represented by FIRE, hence SUN. If the 2nd letter is"la" stands for the "Ida" nadi - Left side -

intuitive approach - representedby JALA, hence Moon. Ida nadis (left brain) cross withPingala nadis(right brain) in the neck region. People with Strong LeftBrain are mathematical - denotes Pingala nadi. People with Strongright brain are intuitive denotes Ida nadi. Any day is good, preferablyThursday to chant these. If the mind is pure, this can be chantedanytime, any day and anywhere. But, powerful beeja mantras needto be taught by a guru and some opine that a good postureis necessary. Remember, different vowelsstand for different things. When you say OM, all badness and toxins areremoved. Utteranceof OM invites Brihaspati who is theowner. But remember to recite Guru Mantra first, then Ganesh Mantra and others after that. It is the Guru who guided you to wrote the Mantras so he comes first and next Ganesha because he comes first in Vaidik Pujan. Here I must mention Guru word is not for me. It is for those Rishis who had written these Vaidic Mantra, Vedas and Rishi Parashara. Message No 1119 Dear all, Let me share some vedic knowledge about shat-chakras( 6 chakras, power centres) in our body and related bija mantras. I will explain about each chakra significance after this posting. There are many bija mantras, some of them relating to shat chakra only I am trying to explain. What are the bija mantras ? A bija mantra is asacred vowel to resonate with a chakra. Bija means seed and you can see thebija mantra as seed sound. Each chakra has its own bija-mantra. Below is the list : Crown ( sahastrar chakra) OM ( Red color) Brahma randhra or sahastrar chakr its located in the middle and top of head. Which has thousand petals. From where we get immense power from the cosmos with sadhana... which is called the universal consciousness. Pronounce it by inhaling audibly through your nostrils, and direct the stream of air to the point between your eyebrows. Pronounce the sound along with your exhalation as a subtly audible whisper, allowing the sound and breath to resonate in the cranial area. 6. Agna Chakr its located behing and between eyebrows. (orenge color) Third eye( Agna chakra) . SHAM

Pronounced shum , this sound is formed in thelater part of the palate. 5.Vishudha chakra located behind the throat, on the top of spinal cord. (yellow color) Throat ( vishudhachakra)..HAM Pronounce it by inhaling noiselessly through your mouth, and pronounce the sound like the word yum (as in yummy); allow thesound along with your breath to fill your mouth and throat cavity. 4.Anahata Chakra.. located on the spinal cord right behindthe heart. (Green color) Heart ( Anahata Chakra) ..YAM Pronounce it by inhaling audibly through your mouth, andpronounce the word hum (as in humming); allow the breath to extendbeyond the resolution of the consonant. 3. Manipurak Chakra.. located on spinal cord right behindthe naval( belly button). (blue color) Navel ( Manipurak Chakra)RAM Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of the frontsection of the upper palate, roll the r like in Spanish, and pronouncethe mantra like the first part of the word rum-ble. 2. Swadhishtaan Chakra. Located Lower portion of thespinal chord, where it starts. (Indigo color) Sacral ( Swadhishtaan chakra)VAM Place the upper set of teeth on the inner section ofyour lower lip and begin with a breathy consonant to imitate the sound of afast car. Pronounce the mantra like "fvam" 1. Mooladhara chakra.Located between anus and genitals (violet color) Base ( Mooladhara Chakra). LAM Curve the tip of your tongue up and back, and place iton the rear section of the upper palate to pronounce a sound like the word alum without the initial a. Bija Mantra have their root in the Hindu monist tradition, they are learned better with the help of a guru for initiation. Learned members please correct me.... if I am wrong. Jai gurudev sreenivas 8. Message No 1122 Hare Rama Krishna Respected Sushil Ji If I may add something to this discussion in Ganesha Mantra correct chanting? Found something interesting on the web and wanted to share. ` Om Gam Ganapatayae Namah ` This is Lord Ganeshji moola mantra(basic chant) and is known to remove obstacles from path. Om means universal sound, Gam is invocation to Lords shakti (energy) and Ganapatayae Namah means bow to Lord of the world. Swami Sivananda (www.dishq.org) believe that this mantra should be chanted as Om Gung (similar to sung) Ganapatayae Namah. Then Pundit Athwalae (www.sanatan.org) believe it should be pronounced as

Om Gan Ganapatayae Namah. However Swami Bodhinath (www.hindu.org) believe it should be pronounced as Om Gam Ganapatayae Namah. However, basically it means we bow to Lord Ganesha. We can chant according to our preference but if chanted with purity and love, it brings us close to our lovable divine master. Best Regards Sonia 9. Message No 1160 Respected Sushil ji Namaskar, This experience of your is really amazing . Help do comes from God, through a known or an unknown person. I also firmly believe that god always have something better to offer. This happens with me too, whenever I am in some tough situation , help comes from a known or an unknown source and Somebody protects me all the time.I always feel that God is always by my side, ready to lift me the moment I fall, and smiles when I do good and prosper and when I help someone. Enlisting some of my Experiences :-1) I usually go to Shani Mandir every Saturday without any break. It takes around 1 to 1.30 hrs to reach there from my place. On one particular saturday , when I was coming back from the Shani Mandir, suddenly there was heavy storm, I could Hardly see anything , I was alone that day.The storm was so

heavy that I could hardly walk and see anything. No autorickshaw was ready to go in such a stormy weather. The timing was around 7 P.M. and through that place no other means of transportation was possible except Auto Rickshaw.I prayed to Shani Dev , and after 10 monutes, A auto rickshaw came and stood in front of me.He said kahan jana hai, come i will leave you, mausam bhot kharab hai.Having no other way, I took that auto rickshaw. I told him the address and he dropped me there. When I asked him about the charges, he just smiled and took a turn and went away. I was confused by his such behavior, and suddenly the whole episode ran through my mind. Points to be noted here:- He was wearing black color clothes, wearing a black colour tilak, autorikshaw is made up of iron, that autorickshaw came just in front of the shani mandir. So, that was a help from God.From that day my faith on God increased and I realized God is there with me all the time. 2) I have experienced it the expression in the eyes of our Isht changes every day, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, dependingupon our deeds. 3) Once i had a dream, i saw a temple having Maha kaali, ShaniDev idols in it.At that time I didnt understand what was it, and why.(I was going through a very tough time those days). After around 10 days I went to ShaniDham in Delhi, and was surprised to see the same Idols there in that temple. When I started visiting the temple, in a month my problems started fading away. 4) Similarly, at times Sharda devi of Maihar(My Isht devi), gives me dreams, about the good and bad happenings in my Life. I completely believe in the Power of Mantras. With Regards, Lakshmi. Om Gurave Namah Om Gung Ganpataye Namah Om Hare Rama Krishna Om Shleem Dhleem Jyotirbrahmaaya Namah Dear Members, I want to share an event that happened today. I had to incur many unplanned expenses this month so my budget is out of control now. I use Reliance Cellphone and this month usage were very high due to several reasons. Total bill of my cellphone is amounting to Rs. 5000/for last month, it is really a big cellphone bill for anyone like me. I was not able to pay this bill in time so Relliance Infocom disconnected my phone on 31st Oct, 2007 in the morning and all outgoing calls were barred. I received a call from Reliance office yesterday in the evening. A request was made to make payment. I casually said , "I have no money at this time so I cannot pay right now." She laughed and again asked me to pay. I again casually said,"If you can arrange Rs. 5000 for me, I can pay." It was just a casual talk. The call was disconnected and I received a message within five minutes "Dear Customer, Your payment of Rs. 5000 has been

credited to your account against your bill on Wed, Oct, 31." I was surprised to receive the message. After ten minutes I received a call " I have made your payment whenever you have enough funds, you may please send it to me at my office ---- and my name is ---through some bearer" How do you think of this event. Was it a favour from God or not ? Is it an ordinary event or extra-ordinary event? I need your comments on it becasue I have experienced in my life that God has favoured me whenever I was in an odd situation but everytime help came from some known person not from unknown person like in this case. I have a equally amazing event and will share you tommorrow. regards sushil dikshit 11. Message No 1167 Dear all members, Om Gurave Namah. Here is what my Guruji used tell me which I have followed and is very effecient in learning: Always doing 108 times Mantra is excellant. In addition to this, it is better to do the following While learning Astrology (In fact learning of any subject), you come accross many names which sometimes difficult to remember the names and their sequence. For example, Names of Stars, planets, Lord of signs, god representing Nakshatras,.... When you start learning, it is really worth (and effecient) to recite these names every day like Mantras. For example, when Sushilji taught us about signs, I have recited 12 Signs in Sanskrit and english every day Eleven times. For one week. Then I have recited Planet names,... The procedure I am following is: - First week when I started learning, I am reciting the names of signs in Sanskrit and english for 11 times every day for a week. Then Once a week. Hope this information is useful for you Best regards Bhanu Pinnamaneni 12 .Message no 1176 & 1175 & 1182

One more thing "Om" placed before each mantra protects us from wrong pronunciation. Most Important pont is you should not try Tantrik Mantras without any guru otherwise they harm you very badly. regards sushil dikshit Re: POWER OF MANTRA - FOR ALL MEMBERS Dear Member, With due respect to all gods and sages..... As far as I know, no mantra is designed to give a bad result if not pronounced correct as long as the intension of doing jap is noble. The Guru mantra of all mantras which I jap everyday 3 malas a day is Gayatri Mantr. Chant this mantra with full devotion, belief, shradda and concentration...feel every single time you recite, some thing in your astral body is changing for good. Aum Bhur Bhuvah Svaha Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yo Naha Prachodayat Oh God! Thou art the Giver of Life, Remover of pain and sorrow, TheBestower of happiness, May we receivethy supreme sin-destroying light, May Thou guide our intellect inthe right direction.

This mantra has changed my life, thinking, intelligence and totally the way I look at this world.Try it and benefit the most out of it. Let me know if u need more information. Jai gurudev sreenivas 12. Message No -1186 Dear Subramanian ji, I appreciate your concern about chanting. Bhavna ( Feeling) is most important than kriya(Act). Understad the meaning of the mantr first. Understad what or where its gonna effect on u or in your body/life. Analyze mantr and try to believe in its effect. Then start chanting. Feel the change or effect of the mantra on u every time u recite. If u can feel at least even one time the real "FEELING" of it, I bet ... you cannot stop chanting even after 108 cycles.. What is deviation? you are thinking of next program in your daily routine schedule...or about the surrounding noises... you can avoid both if you can practice in early hours of a day which is very good time (Brahm kaal) for any sadhana. So please chant with devotion and understanding... you wont get deviated... Jai gurudev Sreenivas

Message No 1188 http://www.swamij.com/108.htm Meaning of 108 beads on a mala by Swami Jnaneshvara Bharati On a mala, or set of mantra counting beads, there are generally 108 beads, or some fraction of that number. The question often arises: Why are there 108 beads on a mala? Below are some of the many reasons that have been given for having 108 beads on a mala, as well as a few other points of interest. None of these reasons are being promoted here as more or less true than the others. However, you may notice that 108 appears to be somewhat like a road map of reality in general, and the human in particular. Regardless of the meaning of 108, it is important that if a mala is used to count mantras, the mantra be remembered with sincerity, devotion, feeling, and full attention. 9 times 12: Both of these numbers have been said to have spiritual significance in many traditions. 9 times 12 is 108. Also, 1 plus 8 equals 9. That 9 times 12 equals 108. Powers of 1, 2, and 3 in math: 1 to 1st power=1; 2 to 2nd power=4 (2x2); 3 to 3rd power=27 (3x3x3). 1x4x27=108 Harshad number: 108 is a Harshad number, which is an integer divisible by the sum of its digits (Harshad is from Sanskrit, and means "great joy") Desires: There are said to be 108 earthly desires in mortals. Lies: There are said to be 108 lies that humans tell. Delusions: There are said to be 108 human delusions or forms of ignorance. Heart Chakra: The chakras are the intersections of energy lines, and there are said to be a total of 108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra. One of them, sushumna leads to the crown chakra, and is said to be the path to Self-realization. Sanskrit alphabet: There are 54 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet. Each has masculine and feminine, shiva and shakti. 54 times 2 is 108. Pranayama: If one is able to be so calm in meditation as to have only 108 breaths in a day, enlightenment will come. Upanishads: Some say there are 108 Upanishads, texts of the wisdom of the ancient sages. Sri Yantra: On the Sri Yantra there are marmas where three lines intersect, and there are 54 such intersections. Each intersections has masculine and feminine, shiva and shakti qualities. 54 times 2 equals 108. Thus, there are 108 points that define the Sri Yantra as well as the human body. Pentagon: The angle formed by two adjacent lines in a pentagon equals 108 degrees. Marmas: Marmas or marmasthanas are like energy intersections called chakras, except have fewer energy lines converging to form them. There are said to be 108 marmas in the subtle body.

Time: Some say there are 108 feelings, with 36 related to the past, 36 related to the present, and 36 related to the future. 8 extra beads: In doing a practice of counting the number of repetitions of the mala, 100 are counted as completed. The remaining are said to cover errors or omissions. The 8 are also said to be an offering to God and Guru. Chemistry: Interestingly, there are about 115 elements known on the periodic table of the elements. Most of those, around or higher than the number 100 only exist in the laboratory, and some for only thousandths of a second. The number that naturally exist on Earth is around 100. Astrology: There are 12 constellations, and 9 arc segments called namshas or chandrakalas. 9 times 12 equals 108. Chandra is moon, and kalas are the divisions within a whole. River Ganga: The sacred River Ganga spans a longitude of 12 degrees (79 to 91), and a latitude of 9 degrees (22 to 31). 12 times 9 equals 108. Planets and Houses: In astrology, there are 12 houses and 9 planets. 12 times 9 equals 108. Goddess names: There are said to be 108 Indian goddess names. Gopis of Krishna: In the Krishna tradition, there were said to be 108 gopis or maid servants of Krishna. 1, 0, and 8: Some say that 1 stands for God or higher Truth, 0 stands for emptiness or completeness in spiritual practice, and 8 stands for infinity or eternity. Sun and Earth: The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth. The distance from the Sun to the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. Moon and Earth: The average distance of the Moon from the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Moon. Silver and the moon: In astrology, the metal silver is said to represent the moon. The atomic weight of silver is 108. Numerical scale: The 1 of 108, and the 8 of 108, when added together equals 9, which is the number of the numerical scale, i.e. 1, 2, 3 ... 10, etc., where 0 is not a number. Meditations : Some say there are 108 styles of meditation. Breath: Tantra estimates the average number of breaths per day at 21,600, of which 10,800 are solar energy, and 10,800 are lunar energy. Multiplying 108 by 100 is 10,800. Multiplying 2 x 10,800 equals 21,600. Paths to God: Some suggest that there are 108 paths to God. Smaller divisions: The number 108 is divided, such as in half, third, quarter, or twelfth, so that some malas have 54, 36, 27, or 9 beads. Hinduism: 108 is said to refer to the number of Hindu deities. Some say that each of the deities has 108 names. Islam: The number 108 is used in Islam to refer to God. Jain: In the Jain religion, 108 are the combined virtues of five categories of holy ones, including 12, 8, 36, 25, and 27 virtues respectively. Sikh: The Sikh tradition has a mala of 108 knots tied in a string of wool, rather than beads. Buddhism: Some Buddhists carve 108 small Buddhas on a walnut for good luck. Some ring a bell 108 times to celebrate a new year. There are said to be 108 virtues to cultivate and 108 defilements to avoid. Chinese: The Chinese Buddhists and Taoists use a 108 bead mala, which is called su-chu, and has three dividing beads, so the mala is divided into three parts of 36 each. Chinese astrology says that there are 108 sacred stars. Stages of the soul: Said that Atman, the human soul or center goes through 108 stages on the journey.

Meru: This is a larger bead, not part of the 108. It is not tied in the sequence of the other beads. It is the quiding bead, the one that marks the beginning and end of the mala. Dance: There are 108 forms of dance in the Indian traditions. Praiseworthy souls: There are 108 qualities of praiseworthy souls. First man in space: The first manned space flight lasted 108 minutes, and was on April 12, 1961 by Yuri Gagarin, a Soviet cosmonaut. Regards, Rakesh Goyal 14. Sreenivas Dear Sree The message has come in proper form. Please post it again so that the content may be understood. But your shloka has expressed everything. Our soul(Atma) is a part of super soul(Parmatma) and yet it is as whole not as part of it. Many of you may not understand it well so I am explaining it more. It is like division of cells. When an egg is fertilized the cells start dividing and create more and more cells but they are equal to each other. No cell is a part of its parent cell. Suppose you have one rose plant and you cut a branch from it and put it to grow, it will again be a full tree just like its parent tree. Though it is not a perfect example because there is a time lag between these two plants. The second plant was a branch for at least some days so one will identify it as a branch only. But our soul is whole since very begining. Suppose you cut a branch and it immediately turns into a full tree or You pluck a petal from Rose flower it becomes another rose flower identical to its parent flower. Then it will be the perfect example. regards sushil dikshit Again I would like to explain it.
