Registration is open for our Summer Fun Club and Teen Trek programs! Register early for 5 weeks or more and pay in full by April 30th, and you will receive $15 off each week!

YMCA ARK CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER


On Monday, June 11, the YMCA will open the doors to our Ark Child Development Center located at the William K. Nitterhouse Family Program Center on Coldbrook Avenue. We are currently accepting registrations for children ages 3-5 to participate in this program. Any questions about the program may be directed to Melanie Cook at 2638508.

LITERACY LUAU THANK YOU


Thank you to all who volunteered and came out in support of our book fair. We raised over $4,000 in sales, and are receiving over $2,000 in Scholastic Dollars to spend on equipment and books for our ARK Child Development Center!

GOLF CONDITIONING COREPOLE


Its time to get conditioned for golf season at the YMCA with CorePole classes. This class is taught by a Certified Personal Trainer and the workout is designed to strengthen and stretch the upper body, torso, & lower body using the CorePole to prepare you for your time on the golf course. Classes will run on Tuesdays from 5:30- 6:15 pm February 21 thru April 3, 2012 Cost: Member $17.50 Non-Member $35.00

PROJECT PROM DRESS


Shippensburg Universitys Womens Athletic Sorority Tau Kappa is holding Project Prom Dress on Sunday, March 25 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Heiges Field House. They will be selling semi-formal and formal dresses and accessories from $5-$30. Donations of gently used dresses, shoes and accessories are being accepted at the Chambersburg YMCA lobby, and outside the offices at Heiges Field House on Shippensburg University Campus. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA.

MEMBERSHIP DINNER
Save the date! The annual membership dinner will be held on Monday, March 26 at 6:15 at The Orchards Restaurant. Tickets will be available at the Front Desk: $18- Single; $34- Couple; $11- Children under 12

GOOD FRIDAY BREAKFAST


Please join us at King Street United Brethren Church for our Good Friday Breakfast on April 6. Breakfast will be served at 6:15 a.m. in the Baker Center, followed by a Good Friday service officiated by Dr. Ford at 7 a.m. in the sanctuary. Accompanied by the King Street Orchestra, the YMCA Community Choir will join the King Street Choir in a blessed musical event. Tickets will be available at the YMCA front desk in March.

HEALTHY KIDS DAY


Mark Your Calendar! Sunday, April 29 from 1-4, we will be hosting our Annual Healthy Kids Day. This event is free to the public. We will have vendors from the community promoting services to ensure healthier families, as well as demonstrations of YMCA classes and programs. More details to come!

This 6-session marriage event allows you to experience Gods design for marriage from expert teachers and humorous vignettes. Youll graduate in a few hours better educated about your marriage, your spouse and yourself. Block out time in your schedule to attend The Art of Marriage.

DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT
RESULTS
The Chambersburg Memorial YMCA held its 6th Annual Corporate Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, February 18. Six Teams competed in the Competitive Open division. The teams consisted of Dance Party Vietnam, Gym Class Heroes, UniBombers, Old Heads, Picked Last, and Royal Flush. In the end the Old Heads defeated Dance Party Vietnam by a score 3 to 1. The Coed division had nine teams: Jail Birds, Lil Buff On It, Super Freaks, Yokeem up, Area 57, Balls so Hard, Dirtbags, Low Ballers, and Team Patriot. The Championship game came down to Lil Buff On It and Low Ballers. Low Ballers came out on top with a 3 to 0 win.

The YMCA Dodge ball Tournament is an annual event. Teams wishing to participate in the 2013 competition or for more information on Adult Recreational Activities, contact Chris Misner, Director of Youth and Recreational Activities, at 263-8508.

CARDIO CAPTURE WRAP-UP


The 2012 Chambersburg Ys Cardio Capture event was a big success. There was over $12,000 raised to support our SAMs and Youth Achievers programs as well as to provide scholarships to local youth for other Y programs and services. CO-ED TEEN SPORTS


The Y offers co-ed teen sports to youth in 6-9 grades. We will round up the school year with our Gym and Swim program running 3/5/12 - 4/18/12. If you would like your student to get involved with the program, please contact Chris Misner at 717-263-8508.

FRIDAY NIGHT YOUTH PROGRAM


Mt. Moriah Baptist Church has partnered with the Chambersburg YMCA to offer a Friday Night Youth program for grades 6-12. Kids can come to the Y between 6 pm - 10 pm to play volleyball, basketball, video games, or just hang out with friends. All youth must fill out an application signed by a parent to participate. Due to popular demand for Friday and Sunday care during the winter months, we have extended our Babysitting and Child Watch hours to accommodate your fitness class and workout schedule. These hours will remain in place until Spring.
