The B9RLE allows for high passenger capacity and quick entry and exit. The three-axle configuration allows gross weights of up to 24,750 kg. The kneeling function and wide centre aisle make for efficient passenger flow, and the chassis layout permits wide doors. The low frame height makes it possible to build a body with only two steps at the rear axle.

The driveline, based on Volvos 9-litre diesel engine is powerful, reliable and highly efficient. 380 bhp and torque of 1740 Nm give smooth handling and sufficient power for any traffic situation. The Volvo I-Shift gearbox can be specified for a wide range of driving conditions in order to optimise performance and fuel consumption. The benefits are the traditional Volvo hallmarks of driveability, fuel efficiency and productivity. The Volvo D9 engine uses common rail injection technology and it complies with Euro 5, but is also available in Euro 4 and Euro 3 versions.

Cleaner with SCR The Volvo D9 is highly efficient, which is the first prerequisite for low emissions. In addition it uses SCR, Selective Catalytic Reduction, in order to reduce NOx emissions. SCR is an exhaust aftertreatment process whereby an additive is injected into the exhaust flow prior to the catalytic converter. The nitrogen oxides are then split into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapour. Trouble-free maintenance In terms of lifecycle productivity, maintenance and reliability are crucial parameters. Every Volvo chassis is designed for long service intervals and swift and simple maintenance. Oil change intervals are extended and many critical components are maintenance-free, such as prop shafts,

half shafts and rear wheel bearings. In addition, Volvos multiplexed electronics system functions as a preventive maintenance and diagnostics tool. Simple service With Volvo, service and maintenance are simple matters. All service points are easily reached and, owing to component sharing within the Volvo family, your spare part logistics are simplified. You also benefit from our extensive service network, which we partly share with Volvo Trucks.
