This policy aims to set the standard guidelines for faculty members and students of Mary the Queen College (Pampanga), Inc. with the process of approving special classes.

IMPORTANT: This policy is an internal document of MQCPI and as such deemed strictly confidential and private. Unauthorized replication or distribution of this manual regardless of purpose is prohibited and non-compliance shall be dealt with due process.

1. Special Classes are courses/subjects which are not included in the subject offerings for a particular term but are requested by students for valid reasons. B. Eligibility 1. Special classes are treated as regular classes, regardless of the number of students enrolled with the prescribed number of hours/week. It will be considered as one load for the assigned faculty member. 2. A student enrolled in a special class is not given assurance that he/she will pass the course/subject. The final grade will depend on the students academic achievement as evaluated through the use of varied assessment tools. 3. Request for Special Classes are generally discouraged by MQCPI, but maybe allowed based on the following conditions: 3.1. The requesting student is a candidate for graduation. 3.2. The course/subject is a back subject of the student requesting for the special class. 3.3. The course/subject is included in an old curriculum that has been phased out. 3.4. The schedule of the course/subject offered is in conflict with the schedule of the requesting student. 4. Advanced courses/subjects are not included in this policy. 5. Only one special class will be opened for a particular course/subject in a particular term. C. Fees 1. The Finance Office, as approved by the Finance Head will determine the fees per student in special classes. Students shall be informed of the fees before enrollment.

All policies, guidelines and procedures inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked, modified or amended, as the case may be.

EFFECTIVE DATE This policy shall take effect on June 1, 2012.

A. Request for Special Classes

START

Student: Secures an Application for Special Class form (Annex A) from the Registrars Office. Fills out needed information and secure the signature of the Department Head. Secures the signature of the VPAA Department Head: Appoints the faculty member that will handle the course/subject.

Student: Secures the signature of the appointed faculty member. Secures the required fees and the signature of the Finance Head. Signs the form and secures the signature of his/her guardian. Secures the approval of the Registrar

College Registrar: Secures the form and allows the student to enroll the course/subject.
