*THE CALL TO WORSHIP........................................Judy Bettis Leader: Jesus said, I am the light of the world. People: The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not put it out. Leader: The night is passed, and the day lies open before us. People: Let us arise and shine for Gods glory is upon us! All: Let us praise the living God. *THE HYMN OF PRAISE AND ADORATION................................No. 172 We Three Kings *THE INVOCATION AND LORDS PRAYER (In Unison) God of light and life, you reveal yourself in so many ways. We seek earnestly to know you, to rest in your presence, to trust in your mercy, and to be held in your embrace. We confess, though, that sometimes your light is blinding and painful; it challenges us because we have become accustomed to the darkness. Shape us in our worship this day that we may be people of the light, shining your light into the darkness of the world. We pray this in the name of Jesus who taught us to pray for your light saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

THE SCRIPTURE READING......................Nancy Stevens Isaiah 60:1-6 THE ANTHEM.......Chancel Choir Behold the Guiding Star Robert Wetzler
As with gladness men of old did the guiding star behold, as with joy they hailed its light leading onward, beaming bright; so, most glorious Lord, may we evermore be led to Thee. As with joyful steps they sped to that lowly manger bed, there to bend the knee before him whom heaven and earth adore; so may we with willing feet ever seek thy mercy seat. As they offered gifts most rare at that manger rude and bare, so may we with holy joy, pure and free from sins alloy, all our costliest treasures bring, Christ, to thee, our heavenly king. -William Dix
