SPOTLIGHT Year 1/2 Children in Yr 1/2 are starting a new topic entitled Famous People. Parents will receive more information on the topic from class teachers so please be on the look out for clothing that will help your child to transform themselves into their chosen famous person for the end of the topic Asthma If your child is asthmatic could you please ensure that your child has a blue reliever inhaler in school with a spacer if needed as the cold air can affect some childrens asthma. Please speak to your childs teacher if you know the cold air affects them so we can ensure that your child takes their inhaler before they go out to play. Cold Weather Clothing Please could parents ensure that their children are appropriately dressed for the cold, wet weather and have coats, gloves and suitable footwear, not canvas pumps for outdoor wear. Punctuality We have been very pleased at the improvements that have been made in overall attendance in school, unfortunately, there has been a worrying increase in the number of children arriving late to school, culminating in 75 late children last week. We realise that there are traffic issues due to the tramline work, but some of the children who arrive late are not affected by this. If your child is arriving late to school please could you ensure that they set off earlier to school. as being late not only affects their learning but has a detrimental affect on their classmates too. ****8 PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD HAS THEIR PE KIT IN SCHOOL *******
