HAZRAT IBRAHIM (R.

A)
Name of Prophet Ibrahim was Ibrahim Ibn Tarika, Ibn Noah. He was born in land known as Babylonia. At that time people worshiped stars, stones, idols. Ibrahim was born into that atmosphere where people totally denied existence of Allah. So he stood all alone to fight for the right. He was endowed with spiritual understanding from an early age. Allah Almighty stated: And we verily gave Ibrahim of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him (Surah: Al-Ambiya, verse:51) As the time passes on he started to hate the idols. His heart was full of guidance filled by Allah. He was not happy with the behavior of people given in the temple. He was not happy to worship the idols. The temple was full of different kinds of idols which were having different shapes and qualities. Ibrahim used to go to the mountain often times in a day. At the mountain he realized that the world is created by Allah not idols. Moon, stars, sky, mountains are signs of Allah. He looked at the sky and said: Lo! I have turned my face towards Him, Who created the heavens and the earth, as one by nature upright, and I am not of the Mushrikans (those who worship others besides Allah) (Surah:Al-Inam, verse:79) His people disputed with him. They were not happy with his behavior. They were having a strong assassination with their belief, so soon the dispute arose and people were divided into two parties. In Quran this is said And when he said onto his father and his folk, what is it that ye worship. Is it a falsehood-gods beside Allah-that ye desire? What then is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds. And he glanced a glance at the stars. Then said, Lo! I feel sick. And they turned their backs and went away from him (Surah:Al.Safaat, verse:85-90)

Ibrahim made clear to them first that the celestial bodies are unworthy of worship and second that they are among signs of Allah. In Quran it is said: And from among his signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Prostrate neither the sun nor the moon, but prostrate to Allah who created them if you really worship Him(Surah: Fusilat, verse:37) All people were against him but nothing could stop him from delivering the message of Allah to the people. Ibrahim explained that their forefathers were wrong. In Quran it is written as: His people argued with him. He said: Dispute ye with me concerning Allag when He hath guided me? I fear not at all that which ye set beside Him unless my Lord willeth. My Lord included all things in His knowledge. Will ye not then remember. How should I fear that which ye set up beside Him, when ye fear not to set up beside Allah that for which he hath revealed onto you no warrant? Which of the two factions hath more right to safety? (Answer me that) If ye have knowledge. (Surah: Al.Inam, verse:80,81) Ibrahim spread the true preachings of Islam. He explained to people that Allah is one and about His wisdom, strength, power and beauty of creation. Allah has created the world, mankind and all the living and non-living things. He is master of every single thing present in this universe. He was hopeful for his believers but disappointed for the non-believers as they were neglecting the truth. One day he went to temple along with a sharp axe. He started to ask the idols Will ye not eat. What aileth you that ye speak no(Surah:Al.Safaat,verse:91,92) He finally raised his axe and started smashing all the false idols and only one was left behind. When people came back they were shocked that their gods were divided into pieces. Anger were burning in their hearts and people decided to throw Ibrahim in the fire. The fire became cool and safe for Ibrahim according to the will of Allah. People were surprised to see Ibrahim alive even after thrown in the fire.

The miracle shamed the tyrants. People were amazed that there was no existence of their gods. Ibrahim had established a definite reasoning against the people who were against the oneness of Allah.
