I. Read the following text! Approximately one airline passenger in every thousand arrives their destination to find that some or of their baggage has not arrived with them. For many passengers this means a wait hours or days, . the missing item is being located. Others have to resign themselves to the fact that their bags are actually lost and, as the days turn weeks, they have to face the fact that they are unlikely to ever see them . To prevent loss, or at least assist recovery, passengers are urged make sure that identification tags are secure and up-to-date, an itinerary with addresses is enclosed and that bags are distinguishable others. Airlines recommend the use of coloured tape made specifically this purpose. Lost or delayed luggage actually costs the worlds airlines over 6 billion pounds per year. They get some of this by selling those lost items which are never claimed their owners. After months of intensive tracking, airlines send hopelessly lost luggage to companies which sort the contents and then put them . sale.

Firstly, it is worlds most northerly campus. Furthermore, the university is recognized as a centre of excellence, specializing in things like climate change and marine biology. Svalbard is the only campus in Europe where the students are allowed to carry arms in order to protect themselves from polar bears. The risk is so great that students must never leave the campus without their guns.

Despite the bears, Svalbard is a great place to be a student, especially for those who like winter sports. In the winter students can ski or ride on snowboards, while in the summer it gets warm enough to sunbathe. 1. Match the words in column A with their synomyms or definitions in column B.
