Welcome Today we continue our three week journey through Philippians 1 & talk about the next step in PBCs spiritual pathway. Last week we talked about what it means to BECOME. Tonight well discuss what it means to Go BEYOND. Opening Prayer Lord, give us the courage & strength to Go BEYOND in radical & extraordinary ways as an overflow of the work you are doing in our lives. We ask that you lead our HG this evening to discover new ways to Go BEYOND together.

Become
Family Time A) Go to the Mission Arlington website (www.missionarlington.org); click on Mission, then click on Mission Videos to watch. Ask, What are your thoughts & emotions as you see the images & hear the stories? How does it make you feel to know that these are people in our community & God wants us to share His love with them? B) Learn more about your adopted PBC missionariesmembers of our church family who are Going Beyond in the world to preach the Gospel! Go to the PBC website & click on Connect to the World to learn as much as you can about your missionary. Use the Operation World website www.operationworld.org to find out about their country. If you have a large map or atlas, have children find the country & spend some time talking about what they do. Finish this time in prayer for them. Kids Time A) Go to the childrens video section on the International Mission Board web page under Resources (http://www.imb.org/main/downloads/page.asp?StoryID=10776&LanguageID=1709). Watch the video called Just a Regular Kid. Talk about what you saw in the video. What surprised you most about Averys life? What did you learn about the rest of the world? What did you learn about showing courage? B) What does courage mean? What are some ways that you can show courage at home or at school? Sometimes doing the right thing can be hard to do, right? Lets thank God that He gives us courage to obey Him no matter what? Adult Time A) In what ways have we gone BEYOND this past year as a church? As a HG? As individuals? How have these experiences changed you? Have they made you feel more closely connected to our church & our HG? How have you felt challenged to go BEYOND in this upcoming year? What would it mean to live missionally & to courageously advance the Gospel in our neighborhoods, in our schools, & at work? B) Encourage each person to commit to at least one way of Going BEYOND this year. Make sure to revisit these commitments several times over the course of the year. These commitments could include participation in PBC local or global initiatives. They could also include simple missional steps at work or in their neighborhood. Prayer Time Pray specifically about the ways your HG has been challenged to Go BEYONDas a group & as individuals. Pray for the Lord to give you courage to live missionally in your daily lives.

Beyond
Community Calendar Tonight might be a good night to decide how your HG can Go BEYOND in your community to serve others. Get creative. Involve others in the process. Make it something the whole HG can experience together & be sure to debrief after youve completed the experience. See your Shepherd or Area Pastor for ideas beforehand, if needed. Church Calendar The deadline to sign up for the Womens Retreat is February 3rd. Cost ranges from $135-$215 depending on the accommodations you choose. Register on the church website on the Events page ASAP. Space is limited.
