Web design: I will spend some time at the beginning of the module working on improving basic web skills in order to complete a number of briefs that are heavily web-based. This may possibly include a small amount of coding, time-dependent. Comic book artwork: Learning a few of the techniques behind creating effective comic book lettering for a collaboration with an illustrator. Business models: I will also look into a few of the basics behind setting up small businesses periodically throughout the module in order to attempt to transform some of my own briefs into live briefs. Moving Image: An area which I have not worked on much in a while, so I will have to spend time as soon as possible getting these skills up to a suitable level.

Contextual references / Designers / Studios / Companies (specific) Francesco Franchi creates attractive but thoughtful and purposeful layouts/infographics for publications his layouts can be inspirational for all sorts of design disciplines, i.e. websites. Jason Carne Interesting and visually engaging pieces of illustrative typography, have been following these for some time and aspire to create work of a similar quality. Nicholas Garland An illustrator who has created a number of works/comics in a dark and moody style; something which inspires me on a personal level as opposed to a professional level (with regards to his printmaking and drawing as opposed to his political cartoons). Madebysix.com a design firm who work a lot with digital as well as a bit of print, nice bits of website design etc.
