FittingandMountingofRadialBallBearings
The Importance of Correct Fitting for Radial Ball Bearings:
Selectingthepropershaftandhousingfitiscriticalinoptimizingabearingsperformanceandlife.Abearingcan onlyperformtoitsfullcapacitywhenitiscorrectlyfittedontheshaftandinthehousing.Conversely,improper bearingfits,toolooseortootight,canleadtoundesirableoperatingconditionsandearlyfailure. Problemswithfitsthataretoolooseinclude,damagetothebearingseat,excessivewear,noise,vibration,and reducedrotationalaccuracy.Problemswithfitsthataretootightincludereductioninradialplay,overheating, unintendedpreload,andheavymountingforces(ordismounting)arerequired.
