SPECIFICATION FOR HVAC WORKS

SCOPE OF WORK The mechanical work comprises design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, setting and training in good running condition of the equipment and materials required for HVAC systems,

CODES, STANDARDS AND GENERAL. REQUIREMEN'TS Equipment, pipes, fittings and appearance shall be furnished by the Contractor In addition the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and appurtenances as shown on the drawings The completed installation shall be fully functional as specified and shown on the drawings Codes referenced in the detailed specifications Regulations, specifications or codes applied shall be of the latest addition or standards adopted and published at the date of taking bids The code and standards referred to are but not limited to the following: AMCA Air Moving and Conditioning Association ASHARE American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers Inc ART ANSI ASTM AWS BS EI'T FM TIS NEC NEMA NFPA Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute American National Standards Institute American Society for Testing and Materials American Welding Society British Standards Engineering Institute of Thailand Factory Mutual Thai Industrial Standard National Electric Codes National Electrical Manufacturers Association National Fire Protection Association Underwriter's Laboratory Inc

SHOP DRAWINGS The Contractor shall submit for Engineer's approval shop drawings to be incorporated in the work as required before commencement of installation of any approved equipment and material These drawings shall be complete and detailed The approval of the drawings by the Engineer shall not be construed as a complete check, but will indicate only that general method of construction and detailing is satisfactory Approval of such drawings will not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility for any error which may exist as the Contractor shall be responsible for the dimensions and design of adequate connections, details and satisfactory construction of the whole of the work

AS-BUILT' DRAWINGS Changes made during installation shall be completely recorded by the contractor and folwarded to the Engineer for approval By the end of contract, the Contractor shall prepare as-built drawings and hand over to the Engineer

PROTECTION TO FIXTURES, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT Pipe openings shall be closed with caps or plugs during installation Fixtures and equipment shall be tightly covered and protected against dirt, water, and chemical or mechanical injury Upon completion of all work, the fixtures, materials, and equipment shall be thoroughly cleaned, adjusted, and operated Belts, pulleys, chains, gears, couplings, projecting setscrews, keys, and other rotating parts located thereto shali be fully enclosed or properly guarded

ELECTRICAL WORKS The power supply to the systems shall be provided as follows:

(a)

Isolator/fuse spur unit at the vicinity of fans, fan coil units and air handling units pump etc; The Contractor shall be responsible for extending the supply thereafter to the fans, air handling units, fan coil units pump etc as indicated in the drawings and shall include all electrical works such as distribution board, control panels, starter, conduit and wirings etc and other accessories necessary for satisfactory operation

(b) The interface of power supply for the motor control shall be as indicated on the drawings (c) The Contractor shall provide spare dry contracts for air handling units, at its respective control panels for connection to the fire monitoring panel to shut down the plant in the affected zone during f~re

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM GENERAL The air conditioning units shall be of s p l i t s y s t e m t y p Each unit shall consist of an air-cooled condensing unit with a matching fan coil unit The air conditioner shall consist of one or more compressors, fans, motors, evaporators and all necessary valves, tubing, piping, safety devices, and accessories for a complete operating unit Each unit shall be completely charged of refrigerant and room remote control unit in the field Refrigerant shall be ASHRAE standard and ARI standard required Units shall conform to TIS Standard and approved by The Federation of Thai Industries The air-co!iditioning system shall maintain conditions in the areas services within the temperature limits of 25 1C and room humidity not less than 65% RH

The air-conditioning system shall be provided with the following controls: A manual on-off control switch One thermostat shall be provided in each room

AIR-COOLED CONDENSING UNIT FOR COOLING CAPACITY LESS THAN 60,000 BTUIHR The condensing unit shall be an air-cooled condenser type, completely factory assembled complying with the following: (a) The compressor shall be a hermetic type to rotary compressor or scroll compressor or reciprocating compressor The power supply for condensing units shall be 220/1/50 or 38013150
(b) Each compressor shall be mounted on vibration isolator

The condensing unit casing shall be fabricated of galvanized steel sheet, bonderised and finished in a scratch and wear resistant baked on enamel, coil guard and water-proof casing help project the outdoor unit from external exposure installation

(d) The condenser fan shall be propeller or centrifugal type driven by a weatherproof motor suitable for power supply of 22011/50 or 38013150 and non-lubrication bearings The condenser coil shall be made of hard drawn copper tube with plate fins The condensing unit control board and pre-wired control shall be completely factory assembled The condensing unit shall have the following: A complete set of safety devices A magnetic contactor starter A time delay relay Thermal overload protection for the compressor and fan motors L.iquid line and suction line shut off valves Refrigerant charging ports Filter Drier

FANCOILENIT The fan coil unit shall be completely factory assembled capable of delivering dehumidified air in quantities not less than that specified and shall comply with the following: (a) The evaporator fan shall be centrifugal type with single or double discharge, mounted on the same shaft The fan shall be statically and dynamically balanced by the factory and be driven by a weatherproof motor suitable for a power supply of 220/1150 or 38013150 (b) The fan coil unit shall be completely factory assembled and the cabinet shall be fabricated of heavy gauge galvanized steel sheets, bonderised and finished in a scratch and wear resistant baked on enamel The inside of the cabinet shall be acoustically insulated wall with closed ceil elastometric insulator and provides healthy in-door air quality The evaporator coils shall be direct expansion coils made from hard drawn copper tube with aluminium plate fins

CONNECTIONS TO EQUIPMENT AND FIXTURE The Contractor shall provide all necessary material and labor to connect to the plumbing system all fixtures and equipment needing plumbing connections All connections to the sanitary drainage system shall be trapped All traps shall be protected by means of venting The supply line to each item of equipment or fixture, except faucets, flush valves, or other control valves which are supplied with an integral stop, shall be equipped with a cut off valve to enable isolation of the item for repair and maintenance without interfering with operation of other equipment or fixtures

PIPE SLEEVES AND FIXTURE SUPPORTS Pipe work supports including brackets, hangers, saddles, bolted clips and the like sufficient to secure above ground pipe work adjacent surfaces and to support it at joints, at changes in direction and at intervals necessary to prevent sagging of the pipe work or water hammer shall be provided In no case supports shall be further than 1 8 rn apart Use of wooden plugs or screw ins or exposed fittings are not permitted Provisions to be made for adjustment of pipe gradient as required and for thermal movement in the pipeline Where pipes pass through foundation walls, allow 75 rnm clearance around the pipe and caulk where necessary to maintain water proofing Sleeve pipes to be foreseen through walls or floors within buildings

SLOPE OF PIPE Horizontal lines for soil, waste, drainage pipe shall be installed with a minimum slope in ihe direction of flow of 2 cm per meter for pipes of 80 mm and smaller sizes, and with 1 cm per meter for larger pipe sizes

WATER SUPPLY CAPACITY DESIGN OF WATER SUPPLY FACILITY Capacity design of water supply facility such as quantities for each servicelequipment and the piping sizing shall be in accordance with applicable codes and standards

A complete water supply system shall be provided for toilet, kitchen as per project requirements 12 1 4 PIPING SYSTEM (a) Piping and fittings shall be so that back-syphonage is excluded The entire piping system shall be capable of being drained at low convenient points Piping system shall be provided at easily accessible locations All pipes shall be firmly fixed to the building Supply lines to fixtures shall be provided with stop valves and unions so that any fixtures can be isolated and replaced, All pipes and fittings shall be hydrostatically tested after installation

PIPING SYSTEM (a) Drainage lines shall be designed to provide self-cleaning velocities and easy access for clearing of obstructions, such access points within buildings shall have screwed or bolted air-tight cover In areas likely to be affected by frost, the external underground drain lines shall be laid at frost-free level Suitable intercepting chambers and vents shall be provided, where required, to prevent foul liquids or gases from flowing back into the

buildings, Special attention shall be taken to have these vents not near an air conditioning inlet opening 13

HYDROSTATIC TEST
Hydrostatic Test shall be tested of a least a 3 00 m head of water for soil, waste and drain pipes The water shall be kept in the system for at least 30 minutes before inspection starts For cold water piping shall be tested at 150 psi of water gage pressure and shall be held without introduction of additional water for a period of at least 2 hours
