THE COLLEGE PROFILE : Bhiwandi Nizampur Nagarpalika (Arts, Science and Commerce ) College, popularly knows as B.N.N. College.

The college was established in June 1966 by Late Padmashri Annasaheb Jadhav, the founder of Padmashri Annasaheb Jadhav Bharatiya Samaj Unnati Mandal, Bhiwandi, Dist. Thane. It is one of the oldest three-faculty colleges in Thane district with five Self Financing Courses introduced in the year 2004-2005. The college has successfully gone through the accreditation process and has been awarded B+ grade by NAAC. B.N.N. College is endowed with a beautiful campus with back drop of a lush green hill. It caters to the Needs of students from various communities of Bhiwandi town and its neighbourhood. It represents an ideal example of communal harmony, fraternity and solidarity. The college offers degree courses in the faculties of Arts, Science and Commerce. The college also has recoqnised Post-graduate centres for English, Economics, Philosophy, Chemistry, Zoology and Commerce. Experienced and highly qualified faculty, rich library, well-equipped laboratories and spacious play-ground are some of the special features of our college. The College aims at all-round development of the students through curricular am extra-curricular activities. Every student, irrespective of what social and economic strata he or she belongs to, will be proud to take admission to B.N.N. College. ADMISSION POLICY [A] Entey point ( First Year of the Senior College) (1) Admissions are given strictly on the basis of Meeit and according to the guidelines and rules issued from time to time by the University of Mumbai and Govt. of Maharashtra. (2) Admissions under reservation category are done as oer the rules of Govt. of Maharashtra. (3) All admissions are provisional and confirmed after the necessary verification of certificates by the University. In case the admission is rejected by the University, The college bears no responsibility. (4) Preference is given to students passing Xll standard form this college. (i.e. Inhouse Students) (5) For the remaining seats students passing XII std. from other Junior colleges are considered on Merit. The admission will not be given to any student who is a mischief monger, trouble-maker or has criminal tendency /background. [ B ] other Than Entry Point (Second and Third Years of the Senior College ) : (1) Our students are given priority. (2) The students from other colleges are considered for admission on the basis of-(a) Availability of seats. (b) Subject combination chosen by the student at the earlier college where he /she studied. (c) Proper screening. ADMISSION PROCEDURE : ELIGIBILITY : For admission to F.Y.B.A ., F.Y.B.Sc. and F.Y.B.Com. the student should have passed the HSC (Std. XII ) Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Mumbai or an examination recognised as equivalent with subjects as may be specified by the University in Arts, Science and Commerce.

NOTE : (1) Students who have passed XII Arts will not be admitted to F.Y.B.Sc. or F.Y.B.Com. (2) XII Commerce students will not be admitted to F.Y.B.Sc. (3) XII Science and XII Commerce students may be admitted to F.Y.B.A. subject to availability of seats. (4) Students passing an examination other than HSC of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Highly Secondary Education, migrating form other states will be admitted, subject to availability of seats, only on the production of a 'Provisional Eligibility Certificate' issued by the University of Mumbai. Such students must also submit - (a) A Migration Certificate and (b) Statement of Marks and (c) Passing Certificate in original along with true copies. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED For admission to F.Y.B.A. / F.Y.B.Sc. / F.Y.B.Com the student must submit (1) The original XII Std. mark-list and two attested photo copies. (2) The original Junior college / School Leaving Certificate and two attested photo copies. (3) The original HSC passing Certificate + 2 attested photo copies. (4) The caste certificate for reserved category (attested photo copy) (5) The provisional eligibility certificate from the University ot Mumbai for the students coming form outside Maharashtra. (6) Students migrating from other colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai must submit a "No Objection Certificate" from the Principal of the previous college attended. (7) The necessary medical certificate for the handicapped students. NOTE (1) No admission will be given without original certificates. (2) The admisson will not be confirmed without payment of fees within the stipulated period. FACULTIES (SENIOR COLLEGE) ARTS FACULTY Medium of Instruction shall be Marathi and English NOTE : English medium divisions / classes are subject to availability of the number of students as per Government rules. F.Y.B.A. A student gas to offer a total of 6 subjects (600 marks). These subjects have been divided into three groups as under -(A) Compulsory subjects (3) -(1) Foundation Course Paper - I Or Training in Citizenship (TC) (2) Communication skills in English (CSE) (3) Compulsory Language - Marathi / Hindi / Urdu ( Any one )

(B) Ancillary subjects : Geography / Psychology / Hindi / (Any one) Major / Core subjects (1) Marathi - (Paper-I) (2) English - (Paper-I) (3) Urdu - (Paper-I) (4) Political Science - (Paper-I) (5) Economics - (Paper-I) (6) History - (Paper-I) (7) Rural Development - (Paper-I) (8) Philosophy - (Paper-I) NOTE (a) Subjects other than compulsory will be granted on the basis of merit and a student cannot claim a particular subject as a matter or right. The permitted subjects combination of the major subjects taught in this college are as under the students should select their combination carefully. The theory paper carries Eighty marks. S.Y.B.A. There will be 8 papers at S.Y.B.A. The split-up of these papers is as under : (1) Foundation Course Paper-11 or Human Rights (2) Advertising / Mass Communication / Gandhian Thought (Any one) (3) Ancillary - (Paper-II and Paper-III) (4) Major-1 - (Paper -11 and Paper -III) (5) Major-2 - (Paper -11 and Paper -III) < /p> NOTE :

The students are required to continue with the same ancillary and major subjects which they have offered at F.Y.B.A. level T.Y.B.A. A student must offer a total of 6 papers (600 marks). There 6 papers are as under. 1. Major-1 - 3 papers viz. IV, V and VI 2. Major-2 - 3 papers viz. IV, V AND VI M.A B.N.N. College is a recognised post-graudate centre for English, Economics and Philosophy. The entire course of M.A. is divided into two parts viz. M.A. Part-I and M.A. Part-II. There are 4 papers at M.A. Part-I and 4 papers at M.A. Part-II. The students who wish to take admission to M.A. should contact the concerned Heads of the Departments for detailed information on pattern of papers etc. COMMERCE FACULTY Medium of Instruction: English F.Y.B.COM There are seven subjects at F.Y.B.COM and all are compulsory. (1) Foundation Course Papers-I (80 + 20) (2) Business Communication (3) Environment Studies (4) Business Economics Paper-I (5) Mathematical and Statistical Techniques (6) Accounting and Financial Management (7) Commerce Paper-I (Business system and society) S.Y.B.COM There are six subjects at S.Y.B.Com. 1) Foundation Course paper - II (80 + 20) 2) Business Economics Paper - II 3) Business Law 4) Acountancy and Financial Management 5) Commerce paper II (Marketing and Finance) 6) Advertising or Company Secretarial Pratice (Applied Component) T.Y.B.COM There are seven subjects at T.Y.B.COM. 1) Business Economics Paper - III 2) Commerce Paper - III (Management and Production Planning) 3) Financial Accounting and Auditing Paper - I 4) Financial Accounting and Auditing Paper - II 5) Financial Accounting And Auditing Paper - III 6) Export Marketing or EMSSI -- Applied Component - 1

7) Direct and Indirect Taxes -- Applied Component - 2 M.COM B.N.N. Collge is a recognised post - graduate centre for M.COM in Advanced Accounting. This course is divided into two parts viz. M.Com. Part - I and M.COM. Part - II There are four papers at M.com.
