FIRE CASE MODEL: Stream has been selected for the particular vessel to be depressurised with design pressure & fluid operating temp Hysys utilities-Depressuring Dynamics has been selected. Depressurisation is started with Add utility icon. Vessel volume has been considered for both Gas & Liquid.Care should be taken to match the Heat transfer area as Operating Mode is Fire API521 C1 value is 21000BTU/hr ft. C2 value is 8.2 C3 value is 0 as worst case scenario. C3 value is 1 the volume vary and would represent a vertical vessel. Heat Loss model has been considered as detailed. Ambient temp & Conduction method also considered with vessel thick, specific heat, density, conductivity & without Vapour flow equation is Fisher model. Valve opening has been considered as 100% Back Final pressure is considered as 790kPa for Fire case if the vessel wall thickness is lessthan 1". If greater than Back pressure as per flare header back pressure PV work term contribution has been considered as 70% for liquids & 90% for gas. Cv value is calculated based upon the final pressure which is setted for 50% of vessel design pressure (or) 50% PS Depressurisation time has been setted for 15 mins. Based on the above cosideration, minimum Inlet temperature/outlet temperature & peak flow rate have been calcula

ADIABATIC CASE MODEL: Operating Mode is Adiabatic. Heat Loss model has been considered as detailed. Ambient temp & Conduction method also considered with vessel thick, specific heat, density, conductivity & without Vessel volume has been considered for both Gas & Liquid.Care should be taken to match the Heat transfer area as Vapour flow equation is Fisher model. Valve opening has been considered as 100% Back pressure is considered as slightly higher than the atmospheric pressure.. PV work term contribution has been considered as 70% for liquids & 90% for gas. Cv value has been selected from the above Fire case Model (after analysing for all the available cases fire scenario Depressurisation has been done from vessel design pressure (or) PSHH operating pressure to atmospheric pressu Depressurisation time should be floated to reach the flare back pressure has not been considered.
