Absent from School?

If your child is absent from school for any reason, please dont forget to let us know. Absences are recorded in our registers with the appropriate reason code, i.e illness, holiday, medical appointment etc. Where no reason is given the absence is recorded as unauthorised and may be investigated by the Educational Welfare Officer. Please remember that requests for holiday should be authorised before booking. See website for Absence Policy for further details. Please notify us about the absence by telephoning school on 01367 860318 and selecting option 1 to leave a message. Thank you. Deborah (Debs) Price Governor & Volunteer at St Christophers Some years ago Debs moved to Shilton with her family and through contacts came to St Christophers as a volunteer to help and support our children. She later became a Governor and was a much-valued member of the team. Sadly, Debs was forced to give up her work at school after falling ill. After a five-year battle, Debs passed away on the 6th January this year. Those who knew, and had the pleasure to work with Debs, will remember what a vibrant, enthusiastic and fun loving character she was. Our sincere condolences go to Johnnie, Victoria and the family. At the Church Service in Burford in was announced that the collection would go to support the work of St Christophers. We are immensely grateful and will announce how the money collected will be used at a future date. The family are establishing a new charity that will be dedicated to Debs. This is due to be launched at a Memorial Service in London on Thursday 14th March 2013. If anyone would like details of the charity please enquire at the School Office. Good night Debs and God Bless.

Oxfordshire County Councils policy does not allow children to wear goggles. If your child needs to wear goggles they need to be BS 5883:1996 forms available from the school office if you have not already done so this school year. Please ensure that all watches and earrings are left at home on swimming days. Please note that a letter from a parent is required if a child is to miss a swimming lesson for any reason. Generally, if a child is well enough to be at school then they are well enough to swim.
