INTRODUCTION
This Servicing Manual outlines the maintenance and servicing procedures for the system software Version 4.0 of the Fujifilm Digital Minilab FRONTIER 350/370 SP1500/SP2000 and LP1500SC/LP2000SC. The maintenance and servicing procedures not described in this Supplement, refer to the original Service Manual. This manual is a professional publication provided for qualified service personnel or persons fully trained in equipment service procedures. All other personnel and operators are restricted from servicing the SP1500/ SP2000 and LP1500SC/LP2000SC. When maintenance service is needed, be sure to contact qualified service personnel.
Precautions Generally Applying to All Servicing Operations ! WARNING When servicing internal machine parts, make sure the power switch and the main power supply on the power distribution board are both set to the OFF position. If the main power is left ON, electricity will flow as far as the power switch and power supply section, and this can cause electric shocks and/or short-circuiting. If the power is left on, there is also the possibility for the machine to maybe accidentally activated causing damage to the machine and/or bodily injury. ! CAUTION The light source section and dryer will be hot to the touch. Wait 15 minutes after turning off the power before commencing with servicing procedures. Wear gloves when handling the optical system parts to keep the parts free from fingerprints. When mounting machine parts, take care not to sandwich any of the wires. Each of the connectors is provided with a symbol indicating what it is to be connected to. Make sure the connectors are connected to the connectors, harness ends or parts bearing the corresponding symbols. The plastic connectors have a locking catch on the plug (male) end. To disconnect one of these connectors, loosen the catch first; to connect, make sure the catch engages (locks).

4.1
Simple Upgrade
3. Perform the post-operational check. 4. Turn ON the scanners START switch. The installer is started and [L-001] Simple Upgrade screen is displayed.
In the Simple Upgrade, you can upgrade the FRONTIER350/ 370 System software(A1) and Variety Print Software(B1) by following the simple guidance messages in the screen. Before the upgrade, make sure that: 1) The cables of the scanner and printer are firmly connected. 2) The power cables of the scanner and printer are not broken. 3) The power cable is plugged into a live outlet. 4) The printer power switch is turned to STANDBY. 5) The scanner is turned ON.
NOTE: For the Simple Upgrade, it is assumed that the former version of Variety Print(B1) software is already installed. If it is not installed, the Simple Upgrade screen does not appears. In this case, use the normal installation procedures. NOTE: 1) Insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive with its printed surface facing up. 2) To open the tray of the CD-ROM drive, press the eject button.
1. Select No for Rack Auto Cleaning. 2. Insert the FRONTIER350/370 System(A1) Disk into the CDROM drive.

IMPORTANT s Upgrade from V2.0 or former version to V3.0 When the Variety Print Service(B1) software is currently installed in the system, use [42L] Template Regist/Delete to delete all template data beforehand. When using the MFC10Y, perform MFC10Y Monitor Image Position Adjustment (44H).
s Upgrade from V3.0 or above It is not necessary to delete template data. But if more than 50MB of free space is not available in the hard disk, delete template data. 1. Select No for Rack Auto Cleaning. 2. Insert the FRONTIER350/370 System(A1) Disk into the CDROM drive.

Procedures in Replacing the Main Control Unit
Perform the system softwares installation and the data download when the main unit is replaced. 1. Prepare the following. 1) New main control unit 2) Scanner parameter FD 3) Printer parameter FD 4) Installer CD 2. Replace the main control unit. 3. Turn the printer standby switch to STANDBY, and turn ON the built-in switch of the printer. 15. Press [Cancel]. 4. Turn ON the power switch of the scanner. The SETUP screen appears. The main control unit is started up and the Windows NT screen appears. 5. Perform the reinstallation.(See section 4.3) 6. Restart the system. 7. In response of the Data backup has been abnormally completed., press the [OK] button. 16. Press [OK]. The system is restarted. Data is downloaded from the scanners PC into the printer.
NOTE: Initializing printer. is displayed about 10 minutes during the processor upgrade. NOTE: If the communication error occurs in initializing the printer, loading data fails. In this case, perform the following steps. 1. Restart the scanner and printer. 2. Open the 45U Data Download. 3. Select All for item, and press the [OK] button. All data files are downloaded into the printer.

Image Correction Setup (42C)
This menu is used to enable image correction condition setting by selecting Yes for each item.

Adjust the image position for each paper magazine.
6. Click [OK]. The message disappears. 7. Click [All Clear] when clearing the data. The following message appears.
1. Make a bordered print to be adjusted. 2. Select the paper magazine for print to be adjusted. 3. Measure the paper width and enter its correction value in the paper width correct (mm) box. <Example> If the actual measured width of 89.0 mm paper is 88.7 mm, enter 0.3 in the box. 4. Measure the image width and enter its correction value in the image width correct (mm) box if necessary. 5. Reprint a bordered print to make sure adjustments. 6. Check that the image is in the center of paper. 7. If necessary, adjust by following the steps below. 1) On the menu 424 Print Size Setup, enter initial bordered width (4.0mm or 5.0mm) in Upper BD, Lower BD, Left BD and Right BD columns. 2) To move the image to the feed direction, decrease the value in the Sub-scanning. 3) To move the image to the reverse direction, increase the value in the Sub-scanning. 4) To move the image to the rear direction, decrease the value in the Main scanning. 5) To move the image to the front direction, increase the value in the Main scanning.
8. Click [OK] to clear the data. The message disappears. 9. Click [OK]. Operation returns to the 4 Setup and Maintenance screen.

Set the distribution function.
1. Select the ID number of the magazine to be adjusted from the list on the screen and click it. 2. Make sure the value in the Set value (feed length) is 254.0. 1. Select YES or NO for distribution. 2. Click [OK]. Operation returns to the 4 Setup and Maintenance screen. 4. On the menu 453 Test Pattern Printing, make two prints with 127mm and 381mm feed lengths. 5. Measure the feed lengths of the prints fed out and calculate the increment using the formula below. Increment = 254 (Measured Value of 381mm Measured Value of 127mm) <Example> Measured Value of 381mm = 380.0mm Measured Value of 127mm = 126.4mm Increment = 254 (380 126.4) = 0.4 6. Add the increment to the value in Fine adjust value and enter it in the Fine adjust value box. <Example> Fine adjust value = 1.0mm Increment = 0.4mm New Fine Adjust Value = 1.0 + 0.4 = 1.4 7. With the menu 453 Test Pattern Printing, make a print with a 127.0mm feed length. 8. Measure the feed length of the print fed out and calculate the offset increment using the formula below. Offset Increment = 127 Measured Value of 127mm <Example> Measured Value of 127mm = 126.6mm Offset Increment Value = 127 126.6 = 0.4mm 3. Enter the fine adjustment feed length value indicated on the label attached to the magazine in the Fine adjust value.

4) When the sheets are output to the large-size print tray, measure the position of the sucker cups. The outer circumference of the sucker cups must be positioned at a distance of more than 1.2 mm from the leading and trailing ends of the paper.

5) If necessary, adjust the value of Stop waiting time. Increase the value to move the sucker cups toward the leading end of the paper. Decrease the value to move the sucker cups toward the trailing end of the paper. An increment/decrement of 5 moves the sucker cups 0.4mm. 6) Remove the inserted paper to turn off the interlock switch, and close the distribution section door. 4. Adjust the Subscan motor speed by following the procedure below. 1) With the Test Pattern Printing (453) screen, print the Grid test pattern. 2) When the sheets are output to the large-size print tray, check if the printed grids are square. 3) If necessary, adjust the value (%) of the corresponding paper width. Increase the value to make the length of the paper feed direction longer. Decrease the value to make the length of the paper feed direction shorter. 5. Click [OK]. Operation returns to the 4 Setup and Maintenance screen.
1. Select YES or NO for the dryer section preheat. 2. Select YES or NO for the Rack auto cleaning. 3. Select YES or NO for the auto intermittent driving.
NOTE: Auto intermittent driving is to prevent rollers from fouling when processing is not performed at night.
4. Select YES or NO for the paper feed-out switch. 5. Select Yes or NO for the Ps rack cleaning.
NOTE: Ps rack cleaning is to wash the PS crossover racks before processing. 2 mm pitch reddish streak marks caused by peeling emulsion layer or black image on leading end occur on prints may be reduced by selecting YES.
6. Enter the Sorter Max. No. of Sheets. 7. Click [OK]. Operation returns to the 4 Setup and Maintenance screen.

Replenisher Filter Inspection
4. Remove the two E-rings, plain washers, bearings, links, guide and roller.

4. Remove the four screws and the speed adjustment section guide plate.
1. With menu 461 Pump Output Measurement/Setting, measure the pump output for each pump. 2. If the pump output is excessively low, perform the followings. Standard pump output: 45.0ml 1) Check the replenisher hoses for bending, clogging or leaks. 2) Check that the replenisher pump is operating properly.
NOTE: Use a screwdriver with a long shank.

1. Remove the speed adjustment section guide plate (see section 6.3). 2. Remove the ink ribbon cassettes. 3. Align the jig with the platen and screw in its screw fully, and then loosen it one turn.
NOTE: The screw should be loosened one turn, or correct clearance cannot be obtained.

Turn ON the main power supply, builtin circuit breaker and power switch and start up the system. 4. 2. Loosen the lock nut and adjust it by turning the adjusting bolt, if necessary.

4. Check that the hose clamps are not twisted when they are installed. Hold each end of the clamp with a pair of pliers and squeeze the ends together securely.

1. Remove the scanner rear cover. 2. Turn ON the main power supply and built-in circuit breaker. 3. Start the system by pressing the START switch. 4. Open the light source section cover and connect the DC voltmeter to the lamp connector.

The factor number (1) to (3) is indicated after the message W-2406 Paper jam between exposure and distribution seciton (6). (1): Paper feed time out form the D561 to D571, D572 or D573. (2): Sheet of paper detected by the D561 detected by the D571, D572 or D573 that does not detect it normally due to distribution failure or inclination paper feed. (3): The D571, D572 or D573 detects a sheet of paper although the D561 did not detect it due to remaining sheet of paper.
