An Appetite for Change

Dorsets nutritional care conference
Monday 13th May 2013, Dorford Centre, Dorchester
Dorsets joint Nutritional Care Strategy for Adults which is being launched at this conference is a landmark approach to combating malnutrition and dehydration and is seen nationally as ground-breaking work with positive examples of joint working. Malnutrition affects three million people living in the community; approximately one in three of people admitted to hospitals and care homes. This costs 13 billion per annum. In June 2012 a National Malnutrition Task Force was brought together to ensure the prevention and treatment of malnutrition is embedded in all care and community support services and awareness is raised amongst older people and their families. Dorset's work has been seen by them as an excellent example of how to achieve this aim, and make it count locally. The Nutritional Care Strategy for Adults will affect us all so come along and find out what you can do to support it. Due to the high profile of the topic, we have gained the support of national speakers, all of whom passionately support the importance of good nutrition. We have arranged for you a good balance of speakers, question and answer sessions and interesting exhibition stands for you to view. So please join us, learn how to improve the nutritional care you provide, network with your colleagues and update your personal Continuing Professional Development records. We look forward to meeting you on the 13th May.
