Jammin' Kids International Music Academy offers world class music instruction in a variety of instruments, including voice, for kids of ALL ages. We also offer music lessons for beginners, music lessons for kids and for adults.

JK sponsors a Musical Playing Patch at the Weston Arts Council "Celebration of the Arts" at Weston Town Center from 12-5. Come out and try a new instrument!

Music Reviews:
JK was invited to perform at the recent St. Bonaventure Parish Picnic . There were many great performances but Matt's student all girl Garage Band "No Plan B" was the highlight of the show showcasing their awesome new lead singer Maiya Massena, also one of Danny's students.

Matt's student Garage Band "Subconscious" opens for the Rhythm & Jews Music Festival at B'nai Aviv Synagogue beginning at 12-4 pm.

LITTLE MOZARTS:

We are in week 2 of the 10 week Winter Session of the Little Mozart group class for toddlers & their parents or caregivers. The class occurs at Upcoming: 12:15 on Wednesdays until Wed. April 3. (A second spring 10 week session will run from the Sun. 6/9/13: week of April 10 to June 12th.) We got off to a JK Annual Grand Recital @STA Bienes Art Ctr (times delayed start due to teacher illness. The class is now being taught by piano & voice instructor TBA) Jeannette "Gigi". The cost for this session is $100 (that's only $10 per class!) plus a $15 registration Teacher/Staff News: fee per family as well as the required lesson packet JK piano instructor for $60 (discounted from $70 for class Jeannette "Gigi" will be participants). Private Little Mozart lessons for performing at a special children 6 years & younger are also available if Valentine's Day dinner & these group classes are not convenient. An optional concert with her Jazz Trio at the Grand Palms Resort. smaller Little Mozart packet is also available for RSVP at 954-499-7715 or only $30 for the private classes. www.GrandPalmsResort.com.
JK Brass Instructor Jose is representing JK at a low brass seminar at UCF.

JAZZ MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS:

The Gold Coast Jazz Society sponsors the Drum & guitar teacher, as well Jeannette M. Russell Jazz as wknd admin/retail staff, Scholarships (deadline 3/1/13) & John, is relocating to the West Competition (April '13 @Dillard H.S.). the GCJS which sponsors "First Friday Jazz Jams" where student jazz musicians are invited to jam with real jazz pros each month from 2/1/13 (to 6/7/13) from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale. Audience members of all ages are welcome & admission is free. They also sponsor a jazz concert series offering tickets to students for only $10.

JK Admin Reminders:
We are in week 5 of our 8 week Winter Session which ends on Sun. Feb. 24. (Our 16 week Spring Session runs from Mon. Feb. 25 - Sun. June 16.) We will only be closed on Easter Sunday March 31, 2013. Our 2013 Annual Grand Recital is scheduled for Sunday June 9. Mark your calendars! Please email us any schedule changes in writing & also remember that any & all makeups must occur within the current Winter Session and are not carried over into the next Spring Session. If you are having difficulty scheduling a make up with your regular teacher, please schedule with one of our many other wonderful instructors as a substitute. Lessons can always be rescheduled with 24 notice, however please remember that there is a $5 re-scheduling fee for any & all lessons not occurring at their regular time.

Jammin' Kids Teacher Profile:

Carlos is originally from Cuba. He graduated from the percussion program of the National School of Arts in Havana. Carlos was one of the founders of the 'Vocal Sampling" group which makes the sounds of various instruments with only the human voice. He also formed his own vocal performing group. Carlos has performed around the world from Latin America to North America, Europe & Asia. He has worked with such musical artists as Oscar D. Leon, Ruben Blades, Celia Cruz and many others. He resides in South Florida & continues to perform throughout the area. Carlos teaches drums, Latin percussion and voice.
