VILLAGE OF ALSIP MINUTES OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES COMMITTEE MEETING December 28, 2009 Mayor Kitching called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Clerk Venhuizen called the roll with the following in attendance: Trustees Shapiro, Godfrey, McGreal, Michaels, Daddona, Mayor Kitching and Clerk Venhuizen. Absent: Trustee Quinn. MAYORS REPORT: Mayor Kitching presented: a) Proclamation for South Suburban PADS. b) Liquor License fee schedule with an increase in the fees. CLERKS REPORT: No report. FINANCE REPORT: Trustee Godfrey presented: a) A list of bills dated December 28, 2009. b) An Ordinance Amending Ordinance 2009-7-1, 2009-2010 Annual Appropriation Ordinance. c) Request from Houlihan Bridgeview Building Trust for renewal of their 6b application. d) Request for approval of a 6b application for Northwest Enterprises at 5844 W. 117th Place. Trustee Godfrey will request representatives from both companies attend the next Board meeting to answer any questions. FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT: Trustee Michaels presented: a) Letter of appreciation to be read at the Board meeting. POLICE DEPARTMENT: Trustee Shapiro presented: a) Letter of appreciation to be read at the Board meeting. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT REPORT: Trustee McGreal presented: a) Report of the bid opening held December 17, 2009 for the General Obligation Bonds Phase I/Various Resurfacing. The following five bids were received: Alpha Construction $626,191.75, Crowley Sheppard Asphalt, $629,694.53, K-Five Construction $689,145.98, Gallagher Asphalt $705,317.00 and Brothers Asphalt Paving $718,283.18. The lowest qualified bidder was Alpha Construction for a total of $626,191.75. Roads scheduled for resurfacing under Phase I of the 2010 Road Program are as follows: Chippewa Subdivision, including Austin Avenue (both sides of the street), excluding Menard Avenue; Alpine Drive from Central Avenue to 127th Street; 131st Street from the tollway overpass to Cicero Avenue; Engle Road, LaCrosse Avenue and the 128th Place area. Phase II of the 2010 Road Program will be bid at a later date. b) November 2009 monthly report. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REPORT: Trustee Shapiro presented the November 2009 monthly report. HEALTH & POLLUTION: Trustee Daddona presented: a) The new restaurant Honey Moon Barbeque located at 12037 S. Pulaski just passed inspection. SEWER & WATER: No report. LICENSE REPORT: Trustee Daddona presented a list of licenses dated December 28, 2009. PLANNING/ZONING REPORT: Trustee Michaels presented: a) Report that the Planning and Zoning Board will be meeting on January 13, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Board room for review of the Ordinance Amending the Prohibited Uses in the B-1 Business District and the Special Uses in the B-2 Business District, and the application from J.P. Gallagher Building Corporation for re-subdivision of three lots into four lots. The public is welcome to attend. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES VILLAGE PROPERTY: Trustee Michaels presented a letter of appreciation to be read at the Board meeting. INSURANCE COMMITTEE: No report.
