EI as Stress Reliever for Learning Satisfaction


Stress is Negative Emotion. The amygdala, our emotional brain center, can sometimes becomes hijacked with stress Continuous stress can alter a part of our brain called the hippocampus, the center for learning and memory Learning cannot take p g place when the Learning Brain is in stress. g Need to Control Our Emotional Brain of being hijacked from stress by Pressing

Hypothesis Simply a Proposition or Statement regarding relation between two variables There are Two Types of Hypothesis Null Hypothesis (H0) : Opposite of what we are testing Alternate Hypothesis (H1): Opposte of H0 Researchers / Scientists work to prove Null Hypothesis Wrong; Hence the significance of the name Null.

We have not gone for Null or Alternative Hypothesis. For the project work carried out here, there are two Hypotheses:

H1: There exists significant relation between emotional intelligence level and academic stress management level g gp among the students of IIT Kharagpur.

H2: There exists significant relation between emotional intelligence level and learning satisfaction level among the students of IIT Kharagpur. gp

Note: p-value 0.01 : we are CONFIDENT regarding our result about 99% of cases Positive Correlation Exists ! Hence, Be Emotionally Intelligent to have Less Academic Stress and More Learning Satisfaction

Predictive Nature of N t f EI through


Linear Regression Yes, EI Can Predict Stress Mangement Level. But How much? R2 of 0.539 tells us that 53.9% of the Changes in Stress Level result from EI Level. (10.539) or 46.1% of the changes in Stress Level are unexplained by EI Level Level.

Linear Regression Yes, EI Can Predict Learning Satisfaction Level Level. But How much? R2 of 0.307 tells us that 30.7% 30 7% of the Changes in Learning Satisfaction Level result from EI Level. (10.307) or 69.3% of the changes in Learning Satisfaction Level are unexplained by EI Level.
