1: What is Infosys Foundation program? Ans: Infosys Foundation Program is a 23 weeks training program for the fresh engineers joining Infosys. The key objective of Foundation Program is to transform fresh engineering graduates to software professionals. Foundation program focuses on Technology, Communication Skills, Corporate Etiquette, Time Management, Team Work, Frameworks and Tools. Upon successful completion of this training, the engineers will join the various business units of Infosys. Usually this training is conducted in the Infosys Global Education Center at Mysore. The technical training is divided into 2 parts. The first part, Generic Stream, focuses on the basics of computer science Programming, RDBMS, Operating Systems and Software Engineering. The second part, Technology Stream, concentrates on a specific technology like Java, Microsoft, Mainframe etc. Q. 2: What is Infosys Foundation Program Generic (FPG) Online? Ans: Infosys FPG Online is an online learning program for the Generic Stream of Infosys Foundation Program. The trainees who sign up for this program can learn the courses in the Generic Stream in a self-paced, online mode even before they join Infosys. Q.3: What is the advantage I get from Infosys FPG Online? Ans: You can skip the generic stream training program once you join Infosys. This enables you to complete the training faster and join the business unit early. This means you become eligible for job confirmation at an earlier date. Q.4: How will I be assessed? Ans: Self-assessments are embedded as a part of the online learning program. There is a comprehensive assessment when you join Infosys. Q. 5: When is the comprehensive assessment conducted? Ans: The comprehensive assessment is conducted once you join Infosys. Please note that this assessment is not conducted on the very first day. You will be given sufficient settling time (nearly 2 weeks) before the assessment is conducted. Q.6: What will happen if I am not able to complete the comprehensive assessment successfully? Ans: You will miss the opportunity to reduce the training duration. You need to attend the generic training program once again. This will also result in a delay in your confirmation on the job. Q.7: What are the qualification criteria for appearing for the comprehensive assessment? Ans: You should have completed the online learning by taking all pretests, posts tests and selfassessments. Q.8: What is the duration of Infosys FPG Online? Ans: You need to complete this program in 10 weeks. Q.9: Am I supposed to follow a particular timeframe for the learning or can I do it at my pace and comfort?

Ans: You can do in your own pace within an overall time frame planned for each course. Q.10: Will there be any help provided by Infosys if I am stuck in the learning and not able to understand/proceed further? Ans: The Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are available online to provide help. In addition, there are periodic Web Seminars (Webinars) to clear any road-blocks to learning or to discuss a topic of importance. You also will have an online mentor who will guide you throughout the program. Q.11: Is it mandatory for me to solve all the assignments? Ans: It is highly recommended to solve all the assignments. Each assignment is carefully designed with one or more objectives. Solving all assignments helps you in understanding the topics better and serves as a preparation for the final assessment. Q.12: What will I do if I could not complete a module in the prescribed amount of time? Ans: The courseware for all prior modules will be accessible to you throughout the duration of the training program, providing you an opportunity to catch up. However, if you do not complete the modules in the prescribed duration, it will limit your available time to study the next module. Q.13: Will the result of my self-assessment used for any grading purposes? Ans: No. Self-assessment is a mechanism that helps you to measure your level of understanding, and confidently proceed to subsequent modules. The results of self-assessment can help you plan your learning better. Q.14: Is it mandatory to complete the online training before I join Infosys? Ans: Yes, it is mandatory. Online training is taken as a part of the 23 weeks Infosys Training Program for all employees. In case, if you join Infosys without successfully completing the online training, you wont be eligible to sit for the comprehensive examination even if you know the subject matter very well and thereby you again have to give the intermediate training that means your training duration in Infosys will become 6 months. Q.15: Is it mandatory to attend the web seminars? Ans: It is not mandatory to attend the web seminar but we advice you attend it and get the benefits out of it. Q.16: When will I my Online training start? Ans: Close to your old DoJ. Q.17: How can I access the web seminar and when will I be informed about the Web Seminar session and how? Ans: Log in credentials will be shared with you in due time via mail. The entire details, log in procedures will be also attached with it. Q.18: How can I get trained in Hands-on? Ans: After you join Infosys, we will provide you ample time, opportunity and platform to get settled with hands-on. But before that, we expect you to get fully acquainted with the hands on practices in your own machine. Mentors will be there to help you out in case if you face any problem.

Q.19: When will I get E-joining form and Medical Test details? Ans: Two weeks prior to your revised DoJ? Q.20: I have got job in a company, working there. Will I create any problem if I join in Infosys there after? Ans: Of course, not. Q.21: How much time I have to invest behind Online Training per day? Ans: Depends on how you learn and your pace. 2/3 hours is more than enough. Q.22: I am a non CSE or IT guy. Is the online training tough for me? Ans: Tough is a relative word. If you learn sincerely then you can easily learn those subjects quickly without any hassle. Please note, the online training is structured in such a way that a guy with no prior knowledge of computer science can easily cope up. But studying text books is highly recommended.
