Europe for Citizens Program Action2 - Measure 3 Support to projects Initiated by civil society organizations

EUROPEAN CITIZENS WITH NO FRONTIERS Information on the call This measure supports concrete projects initiated by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) established in participating countries, and working at European, national, regional or local level, on issues of common interest linked with the Programs priorities and objectives. Projects under this measure must target themes of general European interest paying particular attention to the impact of the European policies.

N.G.O. CIVISplus N.G.O CIVISplus is a Greek organization which cultivates awareness and promotes voluntary contribution to society. Its main activity is the organization of European and national programs to strengthen civil society, environmental protection, promotion of culture and the moral and material support to the less privileged members of society. We are planning to submit a project proposal on the program call by the 1st of February 2013. Project Idea Prolonged economic difficulties, resulting from the global financial crisis, may be leading Europeans to think that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. However, while favorable opinions on European free movement rights are expressed, actual mobility levels within Europe tend to be relatively low. According a Eurobarometer published in 2010, only 10% of respondents has actually lived and worked abroad and 13% has been abroad for education or training. studying in another Member State. record the fears and hesitations of the European citizens and subsequently open a dialogue between the participating countries on how to overcome the obstacles and open a safe way for European citizens to transmigration. The overall goal of the project is to create a European mobility culture by informing European citizens for their free movement rights and finding solutions against their fears and hesitations. . Planned Activities International meeting in Greece (2 participants per organization) Action-researches to be conducted in each participating country on good practices and problems related to European mobility. Questionnaires distributed to each participating country for exploring the reasons making European citizens hesitate to move to another Member State. Focus groups discussing the results of the local researches and selecting the five most frequent citizens fears for intra Europe mobility. Transnational conference in Greece(2 participants per organization) for exchanging of good practices, discussing the results of the local researches. During the conference will be designed and created a website informing European citizens for their rights of free movement within Europe, the services offered in the participating countries, the Solvit centers, ECAS services, Eures and other sources for finding job or educational opportunities abroad. Also will be created a DVD and a declaration condenses our fears and hopes as European citizens concerning the facilitation of mobility within Europe. Dissemination campaign in each participating country developed through the following instruments: Press conferences presenting the materials produced and the projects results. Leaflet on the project results to be disseminated both in hard copy and on line. Specific spaces on partners web sites, magazines, newsletters. Meetings with local, national and European leaders to promote the proposals. Promotion of the webpage.

We are looking for 12 civil society organizations CSOs willing to join our proposal. According to the Europe for citizens guide Civil society organizations (CSOs) include among others, trade unions, educational institutions and organizations active in the field of voluntary work and amateur sport (e.g. NGOs, umbrella organizations, networks, associations and federations, think tanks, universities, religious organizations). Their role in the project activities is: To implement the action-research in their own country identifying good practices and problems related to European mobility. To distribute the questionnaires. To organize focus groups in their own country; To take part in the international meeting and conference. To organize and implement the dissemination campaign. To ensure the visibility of the project and the Europe for citizens program.

Estimated budget Our organization will cover 100% of the accommodation and costs for two participants per partner organization, taking part in the international conference and meeting in Greece. Also Instead of 70% will cover 100% of the travel costs. All the material will be produced by our organization and partner organizations will have only to distribute them to their country.

Project Period Our project will last for 6 months starting from 1ST September 2013 till 1st March 2014. Deadline: Proposals must be submitted to the EU Commission by 1 February 2013; we ask partners to express their interest by 20 January 2012.
