ABSTRACT Abstract: In this project we describe the research conducted in the attempt to develop a person-follower mobile robot. Rather than structuring the environment by introducing external cameras that can allow the identification of the current position of the robot and of the target person, the target person is wearing a color shirt which is detected by the on board camera of the robot. The camera is able to detect the current relative direction of the target person. From the control point of view this implies that the robot should be able to display an exploratory behavior, allowing the robot to identify the source signal and an person following behavior (when the source signal is available). The robot should also be able to exhibit an effective obstacle avoidance behavior and to integrate obstacle avoidance with target following and exploration behaviors. This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
