PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Introduction to project:-

The aim of this project is to deliver next generation police and law enforcement reporting tools, and setting up intelligence platforms that agencies use to take incoming incident reports, lessen employee resources and allow these enforcement agencies to reallocate resources to much needed community and managing system which is easily accessible to the public, the police department and the administrative department. This system registers the complaints from people through online mode and it will also be helpful to police department in catching criminals. The user can submit any complaint at any time and can view the status of his/her complaint.

Objectives:-

1. Significant reduction in manual records/register maintenance at police station.

2. Elimination of duplicate and inconsistent record keeping.


3. Facilitate maintenance of details of criminals. 4. Centralized database. 5. Keep track of status of the cases whether they are pending or closed.

6. Introducing element of transparency in the working of police. 7. Facilitating investigating officer with availability of records.
8. Facilitating supervision by the senior officers. 9. Generate various reports required from time to time. 10. Faster response to public.

Problem in existing system:-

In general, people in India are afraid to submit complaint/s at police station because they are filled with a fear about the police department. An online complaint registration system will solve the fear of the public and will also be convenient and secure. Following are the main problems in existing system: 1. Lack of security of data. 2. More man power. 3. Time consuming.
4. Consumes large volume of paper work.

5. Needs manual calculations. 6. No direct role for the higher officials. Proposed system: -

We all know the importance of computerization. The world is moving ahead at lightning speed and everyone is running short of time. One always wants to get the information and perform a task he/she/they desire(s) within a short period of time and too with amount of efficiency and accuracy. The Virtual Police station is very useful as the solution is inherently distributive. The aim of proposed system is to develop a system of improved facilities. The proposed system can overcome all the limitations of the existing system. The system provides proper security and reduces the manual work. This distributive characteristic of the online solution helps in getting the different police stations to share information and get in contact with one another. They can view the case details with an instant access to the data which will fasten the whole process. The application areas for the computerization have been selected on the basis of following factors: 1. Security of data. 2. Ensure data accuracys. 3. Proper control of the higher officials. 4. Minimize manual data entry. 5. Minimum time needed for the various processing.

6. Greater efficiency. 7. Better service. 8. User friendliness and interactive. 9. Minimum time required. 10. Minimizing the manual records kept at different locations. 11. There will be more data integrity. 12. Facilitating desired information display, very quickly, by retrieving information from users. 13. Facilitating various statistical information which helps in decision-making? 14. To reduce manual efforts in activities that involved repetitive work. 15. Updating and deletion of such a huge amount of data will become easier.

DESCRIPTION

Users of the system:-

1. Citizen 2. Police Officers (DGP to Constables) 3. Detectives 4. Administrator


1. Citizen module:-

Citizen can view the details regarding the complaint filed, the judicial laws for the crimes, and the contact information. If he wants to post a complaint he can post a complaint and can get the complaint ID. If he wants to check the status of the based on the complaint ID provided he can view the status.
2. Police officers module:-

Supervisors are the officers in the police department. They receive the complaints in the form of reports which are generated by the Administrator by seeing the complaints given by the citizens. They have to take the particular action depending on the crime. They can give the suggestions to the Administrator as the part of the investigation on the crime.
3. Administrator:-

Administrator places an important role in this System. It is accessible to all the police officers in the department from DGP to Constables according to their designations and their access rights. He can generate and view reports. He will have access to the entire database and will also be able to create a new virtual police station and can appoint new officers into the department.
4. Detectives:-

He will be able to search the criminal records and will be able to view the case history.

DESCRIPTION OF MODULES

Login This includes Administrator and User login. There will be a username and password to login into the system to use all the facilities. 1. Complaint registration

This module helps to register the details about the crime. This is done by entering some details, such as incident details, Victim details, crime details etc 2. View complaint status

This module allows us to view the status of the complaint that you have registered earlier.

Criminal record

Here we can have the facility to view the details of the criminals. The administrator can add new criminals details and save it in a database. This can be done by entering details such as criminal number, age, occupation, type of crime etc.
4. Fir management

This module allows viewing the First Information Report of all the crimes that took place at recent years. The administrator can enter FIR information and save it in a database. 5. Cyber crime Victims of cyber crime can lodge a criminal complaint with the police. This is a request to the police to investigate a crime. Anyone who comes across cyber crime can report it by means of an online form. Report what you have seen, when and where you came across it and provide your own personal details. 6. Women protection This module handles complaints regarding women abuses for example, sexual abuses, domestic violence, workplace harassment etc. 7. Case history details

Here we can view the details of the case, date of occurrence, the type of crime and place of occurrence etc. 8. Postmortem details

This module helps to view the postmortem details of a person. The details such as date of death cause of death, name of the doctor etc. 9. Prisoner register

This module helps the administrator as well as the user to store, view and manage the details of the past and present prisoners.

Manage the list of most wanted criminals

This is an additional feature added to this Software, which helps us to make a quick search about the most wanted criminals. This helps to always keep track of and identify a person quickly, who is a most wanted criminal.

BENEFITS
1. Fill out an online incident report on your time schedule in an easy-to-use form.
2. Allows you to enter one of six non-emergencies crimes online. The only requirement is

that you must have a valid address proof.


3. Receive a complaint id or report number after the complaint is filed which you can use

for future reference and can check the status of your complaint.
4. Speed up your reporting process and improve the accuracy of reports, enabling Law and

Order Unit personnel to provide better service to the public.
