Delphi Multec Medium-duty Diesel Common Rail System


Description
The Delphi Multec Medium Duty Diesel Common Rail (MDCR) System is an advanced diesel fuel injection system, with models capable of 1800 bar system pressure. It uses a solenoid injector design to optimize fuel rate, spray shape, and accuracy. The simplified system provides small injection quantities in a small injector package, and along with closed-loop strategies, delivers precise fuel quantities over the life of the engine for costeffective, robust emissions and acoustics performance.

Key components of a Delphi Multec Medium Duty Diesel Common Rail System include (clockwise from top) tubular common rail with pressure sensor and high pressure regulator valve, electronic control unit, solenoid fuel injectors with axial (or side inlet) design, and high-pressure pump.

Electronically actuated injectors Driven by pressure-balanced 12V solenoid valve, the force required to move the solenoid remains constant regardless of prevailing injection pressure thus helping eliminate the space and cost of larger solenoid valves or retention springs Flexible packaging with 17 mm diameter axial-feed injectors (compact side-feed design available) Multiple injection capability (pre-, main, and post injections) to help reduce emissions required by Euro IV and US04 and beyond Individual Injector Characterization (I2C) provides superb performance reducing delivery quantity variation, while also helping to reduce manufacturing costs and improving quality Low fuel backflow design helps reduce parasitic losses and reduce requirements for return fuel cooling
