The history of terrorism goes back at least 1500 years when Jewish groups (66 - 72 A.D.) known as Zealots killed Roman soldiers and destroyed Roman property. The hashashins were known to spread terror in the form of murder, including women and children. The brotherhood of Assassins committed terror so as to gain paradise and seventytwo virgins if killed and to receive unlimited hashish while on earth. The modern development of terrorism began during the French Revolution's (1793 - 1794). During this period the term terrorism was first coined. Through the past two hundred years, terrorism has been used to achieve political ends and has developed as a tool for liberation, oppression, and international global politics. This essay is designed to provide an overview of the development of terrorism over the past 200 years. The reasons for terrorism could be.

They feel Delphic. Usually they belong to a certain religion, a certain tribe, a certain region-mostly developing and under developed nations. They are irritated by the 'big' powers. They are hurt by them. They are being abused for being members of a certain group. They feel threatened. Since they are uneducated, they think they can save themselves by terrorizing the people. They're ignorant they probably had no chance to educate themselves. They believe in everything said by people who, they believe, are more educated, who have more knowledge than themselves. So they are easier to be brainwashed and do what they were told to do. They need power. This is in the case of terrorists like Bin Laden. He had once tasted power with the help of America and now being addicted to it, he is terrorizing people so that he can frighten them to accept him as their ruler. Certainly he does not want to send anyone from his family to attack the innocent. This shows that his motive is to gain power. There are very few people who are tempted to do this people like some of the Kashmiris. The mistake here is ours. We should be ashamed for putting them in such a position. Those few, powerless, threatened men go into the wrong gates because they are fed-up. People abusing them, people who when supposed to protect them threaten them, people who don't have the heart to stop and lend them a hand in their misery and people who don't even know that they exist, all push them in to the wrong path. Countries like UK, USA, and most Afghanistan neighboring countries are directly affected and are involved by terrorism. Effects of terrorism on economic activities include; Changes in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).Unemployment levels. Inflation levels. The rate of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).The performance of the stock market. Changes in the value of the local currency. The level of the governmental debt and changes in government defense spending. The health of particular sectors of the economy. Serious Unrest and dispute among public and politicians. Pakistan has been also involved in terrorism as mentioned before. Terrorism in Pakistan has become a major and highly destructive phenomenon in recent years. The annual death toll from terrorist attacks has risen from 164 in 2003 to 3318 in 2009, with a total of 35,000 Pakistanis killed as of 2010. According to the government of Pakistan, the direct and indirect economic costs of terrorism from 2000-2010 total $68 billion. In the recent past Pakistan took a military action against terrorists in frontier region. Such as tribal areas and wazirabad and sawath. As a result of which the resident of those formal areas are able to continue with their daily lives in peaceful manner. In addition to that the Pakistan government has taken preventive measures to control terrorism in the region. Pakistan government proposed a four point plan to combat the scourge of terrorism, observing that the existing security systems had either collapsed or failed to deliver, and the crisis was now beyond one person, party, institution and government alone to resolve.
