To supervise and coordinates nursing activities of the student staff nurses in the pediatric ward; Assign student staff nurse for duties and coordinates nursing service for pediatric patients. 2. To evaluates nursing activities of the student staff nurses to ensure pediatric patient care and efficiency of service. 3. To ensure proper documentation among the student staff nurses and give oral and written reports of pertinent information to oncoming staff. Student Staff Nurse General Objectives: 1. To assess pediatric patients needs and providing initial patient care. 2. To carryout pediatricians order and other medical specialist and assist in the observation, testing and treatment of pediatric patients across the full cycle of pediatric healthcare. 3. To provide prescribed medication through oral or intravenous methods, administering fluids, helping doctors with tests and patient examinations and preparing patients for surgical procedures if any. 4. To provide information to pediatric patients and their families and significant others in an appropriate manner and alleviating their concerns with guidance and support. 5. To prepare and maintain detailed patient records and conducting research to make sure it is updated on the latest developments in the provision of nursing and pediatric healthcare, rules and regulations, new drug therapies, equipment and treatment procedures.
