See Divine Mother blessing us all in Her Love. February 313 Dwapara Dear Ones, Paramhansa Yogananda suggested that his disciples memorize the poem, Samadhi, to get attuned to that cosmic state, so that we might experience it some day. However, some people found it difficult to relate to the vast expansiveness of the poem. Knowing this, Nayaswami Kriyananda, many years ago, suggested that we also memorize the poem, I was Made for Thee, by Paramhansa Yogananda, for it gives us the pathway, heart, mind and soul, for union with God. It also can help open our hearts more fully in compassion for serving through healing pryers. Many people can relate to this poem, as a first step, more easily than to the Samadhi poem. (But please note that Swamiji also highly recommended that people learn the Samadhi poem, as well, if/when they felt ready for it.) Note from Ashleigh Moore about her painting on the next page: I painted this during a time when I was struggling with my meditations. I painted it to remind me of the light that exists in me, at the very center of who I am, and the light that also exists in you! If I cannot see the light in me, it is also more difficult to see the light around me. The tree is the symbol of the Ashvatta tree, an upside down tree, its branches reaching towards things of this world and the roots, where it gets its real nutrition are reaching out into the cosmic sea. This symbol is a reminder that what we are looking for is not outside of us in things of the world. What we are all seeking is Bliss, and it is right within us. The light of the tree trunk represents a strong current like a river that flows deep within me and you washing away all impurities as we rise in joy and freedom to our own self-realization and all along the way we have the support of God, for me this is my Guru, Paramhansa Yogananda. God awaits our coming home at the center of the white silvery star. We can find Him waiting in the silence and deep stillness of meditation. Thank you for your service through prayer. God bless you all. Joy to you, Mary Kretzmann Ananda Healing Prayer Ministry

I was Made for Thee

I was made for Thee alone. I was made for dropping flowers of devotion gently at Thy feet on the altar of the morning. My hands were made to serve Thee willingly, to remain folded in adoration, waiting for Thy coming; and, when Thou comest, to bathe Thy feet with my tears. My voice was made to sing Thy glory. My feet were made to seek Thy temples everywhere. My eyes were made a chalice to hold Thy burning love and the wisdom falling from Thy natures hands. My ears were made to catch the music of Thy footsteps echoing through the halls of space, and to hear Thy divine melodies flowing through all heart-tracts of devotion. My lips were made to breathe forth Thy praises and Thine intoxicating inspirations. My love was made to throw incandescent search-light flames to find Thee hidden in the forest of my desires. My heart was made to respond to Thy call alone. My soul was made to be the channel through which Thy love might flow uninterruptedly into all thirsty souls.
