The Academic Scorecard

Most data presented in the Academic Scorecard come from data prev iously collected for OSU Strategic Indicators in academic y ear 1 9992000. Where av ailable, benchmark information is prov ided. In academic y ear 1 997 -98, The Ohio State Univ ersity selected the following univ ersities as its primary set of benchmark institutions: Univ ersity of Arizona, Univ ersity of California-Los Angeles, Univ ersity of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Univ ersity of Michigan, Univ ersity of Minnesota, Pennsy lv ania State Univ ersity , Univ ersity of Tex as at Austin, Univ ersity of Washington, and Univ ersity of Wisconsin-Madison. This set of benchmark univ ersities is the basis for comparison data reported on the Academic Scorecard. Where institutional benchmark information is unav ailable, national av erages are reported if av ailable. The measures on the Academic Scorecard do not represent all specific actions and goals associated with the Academic Plan. As measures are refined, the Academic Scorecard may change and ev olv e to more closely reflect the specific actions, goals, and resource allocations implemented by The Ohio State Univ ersity . Information regarding the sources of data or the calculation of most measures in the Academic Scorecard can be found in the comprehensiv e appendix to the Strategic Indicators 2000.
