DESIGN PROJECTS
Personal Automated, Proximity-Sensing Window Opener Designed a system that would open a window with a servo should an object (cat) be sensed within a specific proximity Constructed the system with a servo, two proximity sensors, microcontroller and open-source software (Arduino) Planned for expansion to RFID rather than proximity The University of Western Ontario, London, ON Simulated Major Design Project Simulated the instalment of an electric snowmelt system in a section of 400series highway Contacted professionals in this field to estimate cost of materials, construction and personnel Produced reports for every major design step (e.g. proposal, follow-up) First Year Design Project Worked as a group of three to create an information kiosk on research into tidal-based power generation Created a mobile, interactive model to approximate a tidal stream generator 2012
