Yield Not to

Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, now into our third century serving God! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (main foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please complete the tear-off attendance slip attached to the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. No food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity, and find their place of service in the church and in the world.

Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

After Church Today, Brad will be taking the children and youth bowling. We will use the van and be back before the Valentine Banquet begins. Anyone wanting to come along for the fun is welcome! TONIGHT, 5:00 PM - Valentines Banquet. The men of the church will prepare and serve the meal for the women and children of the church. Ben is decorating. Brad is in charge of the activities following the meal. Balloons for the children and roses for each woman. Each man may help them with expenses by contributions on Sunday night. Monthly Fellowship Meals. Starting Sunday, March 3rd 5:00 PM. Second in a series of I Love My Church all-church covered dish dinners. The first dinner was Getting to Know You Better. The second will be on planning to open the doors of the church to everyone to pitch in and increase the effectiveness of the church. Wednesday Feb. 20th, 6:30 PM, meeting for session members and others to plan the Sunday March 3rd dinner. NOTE CHANGE OF DATE FROM 27th.

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 11. Dont forget the Saturday night before to spring forward by moving your clocks ahead one hour. Workday here at the church to prepare for Easter will be Saturday, March 16 starting at 8:00 a.m. The rain date is the following Saturday, March 23. Christian Beginners is a new class for young children ages 1-2. It meets every Sunday morning in the Nursery at 9:00 for singing, fun, and learning. The New Hope Food Pantry Canned goods, non-perishables and dry goods work best. We can use cereals, if we can get them turned out quickly. Take whatever you bring to the kitchen. Please see Evelyn Price or the Pastor if you know anyone inside or outside the church that has a need. Rotation Sunday School Series The C.I.A. (Christian Intelligence Agency) is beginning a new study about Heaven using the story of Colton Burpo, who after a near death experience at age 4 was able to describe what Heaven looks like to his parents. The series is Heaven is for Real! and we will have an 11week study that will lead thru Easter. We encourage all elementary age children to participate. Stephen Ministry - Got a burden? You dont have to carry that burden alone. You can have a STEPHEN MINISTER who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. If you or someone you know are interested in receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program at New Hope, please contact the pastor through the Church office at (615) 449-7020 and request that a Stephen minister contact you.

When you flee temptation, be sure you dont leave a forwarding address.

Thought for the Week

n the TV show "Hee Haw," Doc Campbell is confronted by a patient who says he broke his arm in two places. The doc replies, "Well then, stay out of them places!" He may have something there. We cannot regularly put ourselves in the face of temptation and not be affected. When faced with the problem of temptation, we need to take the good doctor's advice and "stay out of them places."
