BB Cream, a brand new cosmetics category, is changing the lifestyles of all women.
The name B.B is a short form for Blemish Balm. German dermatologists initially used it to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and regenerate their highly sensitive skin while providing good coverage for postlaser scars and redness. Clinical-use blemish balm had no sun-block function, and usually had a thick texture and a dull finish, despite having an expensive price tag. In 2006, Hanskin CEO Mr. HyunSuk Lee, who suffered from skin problems himself, collected natural ingredients, adapted the technology and successfully developed and named this wonder cream for himself, and in this way, the worlds first consumer-use B.B cream was born. Consumer-use B.B Cream is suitable for all skin types and is targeted at people with sensitive and acne-prone skin. It has the advantages of both skin care and makeup as it improves the skins condition and evens out the skin tone while providing coverage for dark spots and other imperfections. It is a multi-function cream offering sunscreen, skin protection, anti-wrinkle, brightening and hydration effects. Mr. Lee shared this wonder cream with users online who suffered from skin problems similar to his own. The company then distributed more than 7 million free samples to the general public. Later, B.B Cream became a craze in the entertainment industry. Many famous Korean actresses who starred in hit dramas began using it as a beauty aid. The trend soon spread to Japan, South East Asia and to the rest of the world.
