Spiral wound gaskets in the Off-Load

This gasket type has been proved in many applications and also at armature construction in power plants. The gasket is situated in a groove and the flanges are loaded to each other, so that they will have metal to metal contact consequently the gasket is in the off-load. It must guaranteed that there is no gap between the flanges under all working conditions. Also an a arrangement in stepped landings is conventional. With this design, there will be the risk, that the inner and outer windings disappear in the gaps between the steps. The special demands of the user to have low ferrite and chloride content in the filler is met by our spiral-woundgasket. The gasket are nearly free of ferrite and chloride. We recommend our profile SpZNG with graphite and PTFE up to 2800C. The zone windings in the middle are made of PTFE. Under assembling load a increased surface pressure zone achieves by the incompressibility of the PTFE material. Up to approximately 3500C we recommend our gaskets with pure grphite filler. The service limit of 3500C depends upon the special stress and strains in the off-load. Spiral wound gaskets in the off-load should not be used above 3500C, besides the design is tested before it will be put into practice.
