Chapter II Review of Related Literature and Studies

This chapter presents the different literature pursued to gather insights for his study. It also includes the conceptual framework, paradigm of the study and definition of terms.

Related Literature One of the most popular school in the town of Lucban is the Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lucban or simply PSL. According to the Department Of Education, every public school in a certain province has the same curriculum that has followed. The curriculum of PSL is the Basic Education Curriculum that was under the K-12 Program of the Department Of Education. This K-12 includes also the semi-private and private schools here in Lucban likes SLSU (Laboratory High school) and the Lucban Academy they also should have the K-12 program. Under the this curriculum are the grneral subjects which are the subjects English, Mathematics, Science, Araling Panlipunan, Filipino, and Mapeh. Music it is the science or art of ordering tones or sound in succession ,it is also a combination and in temporal relationship to produce a composition having unity and continuity. Music also defines as the vocal, instrumental or mechanical sounds having rhythm, melody, or harmony. Music comes from the Latin word musica and from the Greek word mousike. There are different fields under the area of music. And those fields are the following: (a) singing and (b) playing instrument. Arts is a skill that acquired by experience study or observation. It is the conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in production of aesthetic objects. It can also classify as decorative or illustrative elements of printed matters. Arts come from the Latin word ars meaning more at arms work. Physical Education or simply P.E is the instruction in the development and care of the body managing from simple callisthenic exercises to a course of study providing training in hygiene, gymnastics, and the performance and management of athletic games. As stated from the history of Physical Education, this words used as early as 1830. Health it is the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit. Health is the general condition of the body it may be poor health or good health. Especially health is free from all physical disease or pain, it is flourished condition of well-being. As stated from the history of health this words also used in the middle English language spelled helthe and the word health is used as early as before 12th century.

Related Studies Casiano (2006) as cited by Cuala(2007) states that the teacher may use several effective strategies that are sometimes overlook because its focused is on teaching content. They can use strategies which are old the process if they can handle it effectively. Ceribo (2000) as cited by Penamora (2011) in his study found out that students take interest in MAPEH only when the teacher handling the subject shows competences in the different areas under the discipline. Likewise, students noted that a competent teacher makes learning of the different disciplines easy. Ngipol (2006) as stated by Sanchez (2011) mentioned that the teachers learners are related to one another. One world not exists with other. But then, the teachers has more responsibilities and duties toward his pupils because the teachers are expected to be accountable for the learning of pupils. The main objective of teacher is the successful learning of the studies. The above mentioned literature and studies have been related to the present study that talks about the interest of the students in having practical application in MAPEH. It also mentioned the possible activities that students wanted.

Figure 1 shows the paradigm of his study comprises of the interest encountered by the high school students according to their subjects, the researcher utilized a survey to the students through prepared questionnaires. Specifically, the questionnaires to the students to measures the performances, evaluation to their own interest among to all the four areas of MAPEH.

Conceptual Framework

Based on the review of related literature and studies the researcher conceptualize that the students most wanted subjects among the four areas of MAPEH. That gives the impact positively to their knowledge. Learning of the students may depend the way they want the subjects and how they value each subjects. Teachers are instrumental in the learning process of the students. It conceives of learning as relatively permanent change in the behaviour including both observable activities and internal process such as thinking, attitude and emotions.
