A Note to you, Spring is coming soon. Its time to think about getting out and doing things instead of being house bound. What is your mission this year? What is your ministry? The Association Missions Development Committee will hold a Missions Fair this month on February 22, 2013 at Central Baptist Church in Winchester. Rev. Charles Dixon, pastor of Boones Creek Baptist Church and a missionary to Africa for 15 years will be speaking about his ministry in Africa. There will be representatives from local, state, national and international missions with information on various missions and how you and your church can be involved. There are many local programs that need Christian volunteers to assist in the ministries. This spring, the association is planning for an association youth mission trip to Fayette Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Encourage the youth in your church to take part in this mission trip. For more information, contact Bro. Todd Rader at 859-595-9949. I encourage you to take part in a mission or ministry this year. Food For Thought: I recently completed a book, Not A Fan by Kyle Idleman. The book challenges Christians to look at the type of commitment they have made to Jesus Christ. It, then, asks Christians to become completely committed followers of Jesus. While reading the examples, it was easy to see that many of us are not very committed to Christ. Dr. A. W. Tozer gave us the reason for some of the commitment problems in Christians today when he said, In our eagerness to make converts I am afraid we have lately been guilty of using the technique of modern salesmanship, which is of course to present only the desirable qualities in a product and ignore the rest. We go to men and offer them a cozy home on the sunny side of the brae. If they will but accept Christ, He will give them peace of mind, solve their problems, prosper their business, protect their families and keep them happy all day long. They believe us and come, and the first cold wind sends them shivering to some counselor to find out what has gone wrong; and that is the last we hear of many of them. The teachings of Christ reveal Him to be a realist in the finest meaning of that word. Nowhere in the Gospels do we find anything visionary or over-optimistic. He told His hearers the whole truth and let them make up their minds. He might grieve over the retreating form of an inquirer who could not face up to the truth, but He never ran after him to try to win him with rosy promises. He would have men follow Him, knowing the cost or He would let them go their ways. All this is but to say that Christ is honest. We can trust Him. He knows that He will never be popular among the sons of Adam and He knows that His followers need not expect to be. The wind that blows in His face will be felt by all who travel with Him, and we are not intellectually honest when we try to hide that fact from them. Jesus asked us to count the cost of being His followers in Luke 14:28-30, For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it--lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.' Jesus wants us to know the cost of a total commitment to Him and then make the commitment to follow Him. Yours in Christ, Bro. John Ryder

Approved a Special Committee to bring a recommendation to the Ex. Board on what to do about the Camp. ALLANSVILLE No Report BEECH GROVE No Report BOONES CREEK Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Sat. Mar. 23rd at 11 AM. We will have an egg hunt and lunch along with a telling of the Easter Story. CALVARY-We hosted the February Ex. Bd. Mtg. Are in the process of updating our Constitution & By-Laws. Adams Townsend was baptized. Feb. 28th will be Bro. Keiths last day as Pastor. CENTRAL In January, Central had Date Night, Guys Night for dads and sons, and Youth Parent Worship for Grades 6-12. In February, we had a Mens Fellowship Chili Supper and a Valentine Banquet. Moms Night Out on Friday, March 1: Elevation on March 8-10, Middle School Blast on May 31-June 2: and Student Life Camp on June 16-21. CLAY CITY Our Children Church directed by Mrs. Caudill did a wonderful job for a Sunday Worship Service. Our Mission Speaker, Dr. Brent Morris and Baptist Mens Day has been postponed to a later date. CORINTH No Report COW CREEK No Report EMMANUEL No Report EPHESUS Ordained Floyd Holbrook to the Deacon Ministry. Celebrated Baptist Mens Day Jan. 27 with a breakfast cooked by the men, special music, testimonies, a mens choir, and a baptism during morning worship service. Valentines Banquet Feb 9 with a mens dessert contest to benefit Sunrise Childrens Services. Collecting cleaning supplies for the Homeless Coalition as our mission-of-the-month. Scheduled spring cleaning days Feb. 23 and Mar. 23 as we prepare our facilities for the upcoming Easter Holiday. FAITH Praise the Lord for being able to go through Jan. without a snow Sunday. Pray for us at Faith that we will be Jesus heart, hands, feet and reach out to the lost. FRIENDSHIP Enjoyed mens choir and their testimonies on Baptist Mens Day. Had a good attendance at the last Nursing Home Service. Children and Youth having Pizza Party on Feb. 14, Valentines Day. GREENBRIAR Birthday: James Bingham, Paulene Chaney, Dereeda Abshear. Anniversary: Bill & Mildred Richardson, Robin & Lisa Bicknell. HEIDELBERG No Report HERITAGE Well the winter season might have knocked our numbers down, however, our spirits are running high. The choir is in full swing preparing for Easter. The youth are involved in fund raising for a trip to the Creation Museum and we are about to launch RAs, Acteens and Mission Friends. We are already gearing up for the next Community Garden and praying that it will be even bigger the coming season. Looking forward to all the exciting times ahead as we follow Gods will into the future. Heritage is on mission to do whatever it takes to reach the one or the many for the glory of Gods Kingdom. HOWARDS MILL No Report IRVINE FIRST We mourned the passing of yet another member, Stephanie Schnittker, who died 1-24-13 in an automobile accident. Planning an Easter Cantata. IVORY HILL No Report JEFFERSONVILLE- Bro. Paul Hubbs begun the Wed. Study of the Book of Acts. Youth welcomed the New Year in with cosmic bowling, prayer and devotion. Need a place to worship God, come on out, you are welcome in the House of the Lord. Planning a Sweetheart Banquet at Michaels in Ravenna, Irvine Feb. 16, 2013 come join us for a fun evening of fellowship together. KIDDVILLE No Report

MACEDONIA The men cooked breakfast for everyone on Jan. 27th. They did a fantastic job. Everyone is looking forward to the next time. We have had a great month! We have baptized three and had two move their membership. Praise God! The ladies are planning to attend the Beth Moore conference in Sept. and the men are going to the Promise Keepers. We are going to have our Valentines Banquet at the Golden Corral in Winchester Feb. 9th. MEANS Began planning for Spring/Summer activities such as VBS, Independence Celebration, and Sports Camp. Started a new food distribution Ministry. MT. OLIVE-No Report NEW HOPE No Report NORTHSIDE We had over 100 attend the church wide bowling. The Steering Committee met with Mr. Raines from KBC. He is helping with our Vision of Expansion and Solutions for overcrowding on Sunday Morning. PANOLA Baptist Mens Day Jan. 27. Men handle everything. Valentine Dinner on Feb. 10. Working on our Easter Cantata. POWELLS VALLEY Valentines Dinner Feb. 15 at 5pm. Food Ministry Feb. 23rd. PROVIDENCE, CLARK No Report PROVIDENCE, ESTILL Mens breakfast has been scheduled for Feb., the men are also planning a retreat in May and the Ladies are having a brunch scheduled in March, we are also preparing for a Spring Revival in March for the week of the 17th. Praying for a mighty movement from God during our revival, not only souls be saved but Christians growing stronger and closer to God. REID VILLAGEThe children in Kids Worship went bowling. We had our Valentines Party at the church Feb. 9th and enjoyed Italian food, played games and had a fun time of fellowship. WMU delivered 375 Valentine Cards to Windsor Care, Mont. County jail, Gateway Childrens Service and Shepherds Shelter. Our CIA is participating in Helping Hands Childrens Ministry Day. They have been collecting household and cleaning items for the Clark County Homeless Coalition. The supplies will be delivered on Feb. 16th. The youth will be attending Winter Jam at Rupp Arena on Mar. 16th. SALEM Exceeded our goal for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. WMU made plans for the year. SPEARS MILL January is usually a slow writing month, but our Jr. Youth continues to be going full blast and staying very busy. An average of 20 children attending and most of them riding the van. What a blessing! The youth have a couple mission projects in Jan., one being Laundry Gift and second Helping Hands. These missions are to assist people in need. Many praises go out to our Youth Leader, Julie Blackburn, Claudia Claypool and Billy Poole. Their group of leaders and youth are an inspiration to our Church and Community. There are also volunteers that assist the leaders helping in the kitchen and other duties as well. Spears Mill is truly blessed to have so many dedicated members to help where and when needed. God Bless each and everyone. The Women on Mission are talking about a couple Missions in Feb. the Mission Fair at Central Baptist in Winchester and youth 6-12 grades a trip to Fayette Baptist in Memphis, TN area. Prayers go out that these Missions come to happen. Our annual Valentine Spaghetti Dinner will be Feb. 10 after service. Always enjoyed by all. Good spaghetti, salad and desserts. Our choir has begun practice for the Easter Cantata. Miss Lois had picked a beautiful and inspiring Cantata. It will be presented Easter Sunday at the Morning Service. The youth will also be singing with the choir a couple of times. Sing praises-what glory! Spears Mill wishes everyone a healthy and blessed winter, SPRING STREET Chili Supper had been moved to March or April because of so many out with the flu. THOMAS Our Youth group enjoyed bowling for their 2nd Sat. event, they also visited the Estill Co. Nursing Home, and plan to visit each 2nd. Sunday, our Church is also sponsoring a Relay for Life Team. VALLEY VIEW No Report WM. MEMORIAL Helped families with food and gifts during Dec. Contributed $590.00 to Lottie Moon Offering. The Choir presented a Cantata , Heavens Child and the Sunday School presented a play Why Christmas? with Church Fellowship afterwards. Getting ready for Easter and VBS.
