ANTI THEFT VEHICLE TRACKING SYSTEM USING GSM AND GPS

INTRODUCTION: This paper presents one of the emerging applications of the GSM technology. We present the design of a stand- alone embedded system that can automatically guard the automobile (CAR) door locking and engine locking system using automatic sensor technology. Remotely the system allows owner to monitor and control his automobile via mobile phone set by sending commands in the form of SMS messages and receiving the locking system status. The hardware architecture consists of a standalone embedded system that is based on 8 bit microcontroller, an interface and a driver circuit connects the sensors to the microcontroller. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In this project, the sensors are controlled with the help of a cell phone. The system uses sms facility to give the commands and receive the status from the receiver. The mobile user sends a secret code with control data. In the receiver section, GSM modem receives the commands and sends the signal to the microcontroller. The micro controller verifies the secret code and performs the command functions. The controller also triggers the sensor circuit through drivers. HARDWARE REQUIREMENT: Microcontroller GSM modem Power Supply Control devices Mobile SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT: Embedded C/Assembly language Keil compiler

TRANSMITTER SECTION
The transmitter section consists of a micro controller, GPS module, GSM transmitter and Ignition control. When a vehicle is being thefted then transmitters sends an sms alert to receiver desired location of the vehicle and this transmitter gets the message from the receiver for controlling a vehicle operations. When the microprocessor gets a signal from the gps modem it takes that particular area latitude and longitude from GPS module and then it sends a message which contains thefting intimation along with particulars of location through GSM transmitter to the control station and also to the numbers that were already saved.

RECEIVER SECTION
The receiver section consists of a GSM receiver and a PC. The information sent from the transmitter section is received by the GSM receiver and then traced by using PC at the control station. Then the information can be informed to an police service. Here we can send an sms through our gsm modem in base station , for controlling vehicle, for example we are sending the sms to our tx with predefined text format such as stop then tx receives the information from rx ignition will be stopped. This vehicle tracking system employs a GSM/GPS Module for continuously updating the geographical location of the vehicle to the base station where the latitudes and longitudes will be plotted on the maps stored on a PC.
