Dear readers: Astrology has been termed as a pseudo-science by many. It is but indeed a pure and genuine science formulated by usage of nine planets, 12 zodiacal signs, 27 constellations and the combinations & permutations connected to it. Astrology is the only science which can predict the future events of a human life. Probably no other science could predict it accurately. But Astrology has been termed as a subject linked to a particular religion or they are connected to blind-beliefs, fatalisms and superstitions. Many also should be blamed for this haphazard situation. It is probably Prof. KS Krishnamurti, who has presented this subject a pure science and delivered predictions without relying on intuition or with the help of worship to a particular diety. The so-called kuja dosha, kala sarpa dosha, ucha sthana, neecha sthana, moola trikona, neechabhanga raja yoga, and various other yogas mentioned are probably nursery rhymes or lullabies in Astrology. It is felt that every astro student is required study the subject deep and link the planetary combinations along with DBAS to life events and look at each chart with critical and cynical mind, rather than just carried away by many so-called usages mentioned above.

Whether these Cuspal Star Planets are giving the results of these Cusps? I request all the seniors would offer their feedback on this topic. For Kataka Lagna the Cusps 1,5,9 are in Watery Signs (Moksha) and the Lords of these houses (Moon, Mars and Jupiter) are very much helpful to each other. Kona Lords are Trijnamas Father Son and Grandson. You can observe that Moon, Mars and Jupiter are trine lords connected to Dharma. Moon lord of 1 is powerful in giving Lagna results if Moon is placed well, good with mother, fertile imagination; Mars as lord of 5n10 trine and quadrant gives good raja yoga as per Parasara. Generally indicates c section child births for females, easy conceiving, profession with Mars as lord is good for administrative, police, defence etc.; Jupiter as lord of 6n9 indicates good in higher education and competitive exams. etc. Opportunities for teaching profession or good education with foreign studies. If these three houses (I V IX) connected to Jupiter (VI& IX) then the results are (1,6&9), (5,6&9) and (9,6&9) signification 1st connection which is favourable for long life and success in competition; 5th connection good for progeny; 9th connection indicates topper in higher studies, travelling extensively. In studies they will reach highest stage either in Masters or Phd. Teaching, training, University levels. Jupiter is lord purvapunya. Attached to father. Second Triplet Cusps are the 2,6,10 which are Fiery Signs (Sun, Jupiter & Mars) are connected to Money, Service and Profession/ Job indicates Artha. Sun as lord of 2 indicates money thru Govt. and fair means; Jupiter lord of 6n9 indicates success, competition, destruction of ill health, good for gains; Mars as lord 5 &10 gives problems in office as well as in marital life, 10 does not support 5th except in speculative, fine arts, athlet or games as profession which are favourable for this combination.

If these three cusps (II, VI & X) connected to Kethu (Node) would determine the outcome basing on Kethus Signification (Nodes conjunction, Aspect, Star Lord and lastly the Sign Lord) Kethus nature is negative, but if it connects to 6th is good for long life, spiritual progress and success in Kethu Major period; but when it connected to 2nd speaks bad about marital happiness unless he / she marries a spiritual partner who is not interested in sexual matters; connected to 10th troubles in career. If these Cusps are connected to Venus (IV & XI)) who is Bhadhaka Lord of Cancer which is a moveable sign, then the results are (2, 4&11); (6, 4&11); and (10, 4&11); signification 2nd connection is good for making money from fixed assets, job from home, mother; 6th connection gives good money thru competition, education, teaching or rea; estate; 10th connection would give lack of satisfaction in job and tensions in job or no work at all a house wife. Third Triplet Cusps are the 3,7,11 Houses which are Earthy Signs (Mercury, Saturn & Venus) are connected to Kama. Mercury as lord 3 gives communication abilities, short journeys, Saturn as lord of 7n8 creates problems both in business/ marital / job area as Saturn is enemy to Lagna Lord, Venus is lord of 11 n4 a Bhadhaka Lord does not help at all to this Ascendant. If these three cusps (III, VII & XI) connected to Sun (II) then the results are (2,3), (7,2) and (11 &2) signification 2nd connection is favourable for money making, good speech, family; 7th connection gives good money thru business; 11th connection would give good money, vak sidhi and family. If they are connected to Moon (I)) then the results are (3, 1); (7, 1); and (11, 1); 3rd signification indicates favourable results for travelling, immigration, abroad travels, good for longevity; 7th connection would give selected marriage; 11th connection is normal good for wealth and yoga but not good for longevity. From the above it could be summed up that normally the Cusp Stars and the owners of these stars if they signify good cusps for that particular Ascendant then it will improve that Bhava concerned or otherwise the Bhava concerned would be in problem unless the native was born in Cuspal Interception where the cusps would shift either clockwise or anticlockwise wherein the predictions would be done on special footing on case to case basis but not a general rules basing Ascendant itself. That is the reason why the Ascendant plays an important role because once its features are known (i.e. Lagna, Lagesh, Odd/even. Fiery / Earthy / Airy / Waters, Moveable / Fixed / Dual, Barren / fruitful, Sirshodaya /Prutyodasa, Kona/Kendra etc). The Sun should transits in the sign of Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha and in the star of Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha. 2. The above rule is applicable only when Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha is well placed and strong. 3. If No Planets are in the Star of Dasa or Bhukthi, then it is preferable to look into transit of Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha in their sign and in their stars. 4. This rule gets modified by the planets with which they are in conjunction or aspected by other Planets. Provided they are stronger than Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha. 5.If the Star in which Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha is well placed and stronger than Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha Then, when Sun transits in the Star of Dasanatha or Bhukthinatha 6. If Anthra is properly selected ,then Look into the occupation of Anthranatha and Star in which it is situated ,If they are Stronger than Dasa or Bhukthinatha ,then Sun Transiting the sign of Anthra and Star of either Dasa or Bhukthi or anthrax whichever is Well placed and strong may be selected 7. Let any Planet. Transiting any sign ,or in any house .As per K.P. one should note the transits of the significations in the star and sub of a particular matter ,Well placed and strong will surely indicate the time of event 8. Moon transiting the Dasa, Bhukthi and Anthra jointly indicate the time of an event. 9. Note whether any planet is a slow moving Planet, if so give importance to the sub .If it is fast moving give Importance to Star, who is a strong significations. 10 .Note the Karaka Planet, well placed and strong, then Look to the transit in his sign and preferably the Star and sub. 11 .If Karaka Planet is aspecting any one of the periods, then select the transit of Sun in that planet Sign or preferably Star and Sub. 12. GAJ KESARI YOGA : A SCIENTIFIC VIEW OF IT

Lot of water has flown under the Ganges since the so called Gaj-Kesari yoga was formulated in the conventional Astrology systems. As of now we do NOT exactly know under which circumstances it got derived by the Learned people of those days, who surely have given us exceptional learnings, albeit most of them without elaborating the logic to an understandable extent. Gaj-Kesari Yoga as such is not followed in many streams of Astrology. Yes, it is never correct to blindly follow the studies already done and neither is it correct to refuse the proposed theories point blank, whichever is the field of science. We all have had opportunities to be exposed to higher knowledge in our life and people studying Astrology surely do have a scientific bent of mind. Let us deliberate, discuss, raise pertinent issues, cite relevant examples and try to derive reasoning in a scientific way to understand if at all there is GajKesari yoga or that it is just a figment of imagination to soothe out the disturbed feelings of the people at times. Gaj-Kesari yoga is quite a popular yoga and we all know when it gets formed in a chart. But do we really know the meaning of the word Gaj-Kesari ! Gaj-Kesari yoga as it is called is made of two words 'Gaj'- which means Elephant, and 'Kesari' - which means like a Raja (King). Combining the two we can interpret that a person with Gaj-Kesari yoga is the one who is Kingly by the virtue of having many elephants. In the olden times the Elephants, Horses, Camels, Donkeys were used as mode of conveyance. They are akin to modern day vehicles which the people ride to commute to other places. Riding a donkey centuries back perhaps was done by the then financially challenged section of the society and probably riding an elephant was tantamounting to one's richness, royalty and grandness. Interpretation of the laws to the tune of the 'Desh', 'Kaal', 'Patra' (Paristhithi) is always going to remain the need of the time. Not only in Astrological science, but truthful interpretation has become a necessity in even the other scientific principles also. We find that school children still learn some science laws which are now lying on the Surgeons table and awaiting re-constitution. Hence going by the modern day interpretation the motorized vehicles like grand high segment cars, mid size cars, Bikes, Scooters can be some-what related

to the above mentioned pet animals which were regularly used as modes of travel ages ago. Now, if at all Gaj-Kesari yoga is there then it would mean that the person having such yoga would be having such animals or vehicles. It could be that the strong Gaj-Kesari yoga gives a high segment car (Elephant) and one with malefic effect gives merely a scooter. That itself is debatable. Now, let me share one more finding before the discussion on GKY gets navigated towards some sort of conclusion. After analyzing charts of people of varying financial & educational backgrounds, I found that a forceful politician (Minister) or a high flying CEO or a Senior Manager of a profit making business firm had this Gaj-Kesari yoga but at the same Gaj-Kesari yoga was also there in the chart of the driver of these persons or in the charts of the low level Assistants to these persons. So now what??? Should we say that since the driver had Gaj-Kesari yoga he had the opportunity to drive a BMW (belonging to the CEO's office)? Should we say that since the Assistant of the Minister travelled with him in his spunky car so his having the GKY yoga is justified? There could be several other examples in day to day life, which can make us smile in suspicion. Actually speaking, GKY can be made in several combinations because Jupiter has 3 direct sights and Moon by virtue of its faster speed (fastest amongst all planets) tends to attain 1:1 or 1:7 or 5:9 or 4:10 position with Jupiter (compliance condition for GKY) in the chart after every few days. Moon stays in a house for 2.25 days at a time, which means that to comply with the above mentioned four placements w.r.t. Jupiter it will have 4 x 2.25 = 9 days period available in a month. So irrespective of the placement of Jupiter in the chart, the Moon will acquire the position to comply for GKY yoga for at least 9 days in a month, which is very frequent indeed. If not in the main chart it would most probably comply with GKY norms in the Navansh (D-9 chart). That would further increase compliance possibility. If we make a mathematical model to constitute the situation we might arrive at a condition that people born in the said 9 days of every month (or may be even higher if we take D-9 chart also into account) have Gaj-Kesari yoga. This boils down to at least 30% of the total population (people born in the said 9 days out of 30 days in a month). If we take example of only our country and assume total population to be 120 crores, then hypothetically speaking at least 36 crores people (30% of population) have Gaj-Kesari yoga. Can it be really true? Are 36 Crores people of India enjoying the benefits of Gaj-Kesari yoga???? I really wish God make this yoga work for entire humanity!!!! Believe me I myself got flabbergasted when my interpretation of GKY yoga on a kundali made me eat a humble pie when told that the person could barely make his ends meet. So, one cannot go very safely as per the strictly worded laws in the ancient books. Time has come when Change is required in every sphere of life, more-so in our thought processes. Of course these ancient books & theories are splendid as they have provided us the basics and a

datum line from where we can think ahead. They have given us a platform. They have successfully handed the end of a spread-out large thread piece for us to bobbin the thread again & again and to determine if it had any kink in it. The ancient laws can surely be made more effective but only if they are re-modulated in the right fashion. I sincerely believe that No Planet works in Isolation. Similarly there cannot be any Yoga also which works in isolation. A specific combination of Moon and Jupiter is said to give GKY. Yes, this specific combination of Moon and Jupiter can give good results but provided they are also ably supported in the right fashion by other planets and most importantly provided the native also does some little on his/her own in the pertaining Main period or Sub-period. Most of us agree that when Moon and Jupiter are placed 4:10 with each other they work favorably for the native. Yes they do, but it might NOT be because this placement complies as GKY. I think this is because any planet placed 4th from some other planet supports the other one favorably. And this must hold well for similar combinations of other planets also provided the individual strengths or weaknesses do not oppose the combination. I am not a sufficiently learned person to oppose the laws which our much learned Ancestors have formulated. But I sincerely believe that there is some Missing Link, which either could not be inked in those times, or has been lost in our hustle-bustle in between to quickly acquire & exhibit knowledge without going into the roots of its origin. The Learned Great Astrologers of olden India must NOT be blamed. None of us have ever read the original script and do not exactly know what they have written, in which context and under what relevance they formulated the yogas, some of which in modern times seem to be paradoxical. We have only read the translations, which could be incomplete. It could be that they fabricated GKY at that time to provide solution to some typical issue of those times or to segregate the formation of some society of those times. Therefore instead of taking the Astro laws straight by its words I plead to join hands to analyze them under the modern scenario and do Root Cause Analysis for each of them to find those precious missing links. May be ASTROVISION with the collective wisdom of many learned & forward looking persons could succeed in giving the world an entire set of newly derived laws and thereby give a new shine to the face of the Astrology.
