Prof. Dr. Michael Hahn, *7.5.1941 in Otterndorf (Niedersachsen), Germany Academic career: studied at the universities of Gttingen, Marburg and Bonn, first science, psychology and musicology (B.A. in psychology in 1964), then Sanskrit, Tibetan, Chinese and Mongolian under Gustav Roth, Ernst Waldschmidt, Wilhelm Rau, Claus Vogel and Walter Heissig ; Ph. D. 1967 at the University of Marburg with a thesis on Jnarmitra's metrical treatise Vttamlstuti; 1968-1972 assistant professor at the University of Hamburg under Ludwig Alsdorf and Franz Bernhard; 1972 D. Litt. with a second thesis on Candragomin's Buddhist play Loknandanaka; 1972 assistant professor and reader at the University of Bonn; 1982 promotion to associate professor; 1.10.1988 full professor at the University of Marburg; emeritus since 1.10.2007.
