Dedicated Furnace Solutions from the Thermo Scientic iCE 3000 Series Atomic Absorption Spectrometers
Background corrected, fully automated, ultra-trace analysis

Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (GFAAS) is an established analytical technique for measuring a large number of elements at parts per billion levels. Sample consumption is incredibly low, with only a few microlitres of sample injected directly into a graphite cuvette. Controlled electrical heating of the cuvette dries the sample and removes the matrix prior to atomization. Hollow cathode lamps provide specic elemental light output, which is directed through the centre of the cuvette to allow measurement during atomization. High performance optics and precise monochromator operation ensure the light path is always perfectly aligned for analysis.

Dedicated furnace solutions from the Thermo Scientic iCE 3000 Series Atomic Absorption Spectrometers are developed to make the user experience as simple as possible, without compromising performance or functionality. The Wizard driven Thermo Scientic SOLAAR software guides even the novice user through optimization, method development and analysis, while the integrated furnace autosampler allows fully automated and unattended operation. A suite of reporting and post-processing options are available to interrogate results, create customized reports and export data to external systems.

Dedicated Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometers
Dedicated furnace systems provide an ideal solution for laboratories requiring parts per billion detection limits and automated sample analysis. Furnace systems can be left to run unattended, while a wide variety of quality and performance checks can be programmed into the software to monitor performance and ensure accuracy of results over prolonged analysis periods. The iCE 3000 Series AA Spectrometers includes two dedicated graphite furnace atomic absorption systems, for those users who do not require ame capabilities. 1. The Thermo Scientic iCE 3300GF AA spectrometer is a compact system with Deuterium background correction and an Ebert optical system. 2. The Thermo Scientic iCE 3400 AA spectrometer offers both Zeeman and Deuterium background correction with a sophisticated Echelle optical system.

Features and Accessories

GFTV provides real time internal vision of the graphite cuvette, enabling observation of sample deposition and drying behavior. GFTV is provided as standard to aid method development, ensuring repeatable analysis, time after time. The integrated furnace autosampler not only deposits samples with accuracy and precision, it also prepares multiple standards from a single master standard, intelligently dilutes over-range samples and adds matrix modiers to complex samples. A dedicated Furnace Validator Package available, providing Installation Qualication (IQ) and fully automated Operational Qualication (OQ) for the system. (Optional). Thermo Scientic SOLAARsecurity, is an addition to the SOLAAR software, enabling permission controls to functionality and application of electronic signatures. This is essential for regulated laboratories and those requiring 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. (Optional).
