Vancouver - Greenest City Action Plan Vancouvers Greenest City Action Plan sets out a bold vision: to become the greenest city in the world by 2020. The city deliberately chose a superlative to describe the action plan it adopted in July, 2011. The plan's 2020 target is to reduce GHGs 33% from 2007 levels.

Victoria - Climate Action Program Victoria's Climate Action Program is comprised of a Community Climate and Energy Resiliency Plan (Community Plan) and Corporate Carbon Neutral Plan (Corporate Plan). The Community Plan provides a roadmap for achieving a 2020 community GHG emissions reduction target of 33% and the Corporate Plan provides a roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality in municipal operations by 2012.

Edmonton - CO2RE Carbon Dioxide Reduction Edmonton (CO2RE) Edmonton's community-wide climate initiative is developed by the community, for the community. Its aim is to permanently reduce local GHG emissions. The goal is to reduce GHG emissions in Edmonton from 1990 levels by up to 20% by the year 2020.

Saskatoon - Energy and Greenhouse Gas Management Plan Saskatoon's City Council adopted targets to reduce GHG emissions by 6 % below 1990 levels by 2013 for the community of Saskatoon, and 10% below 1990 levels by 2013 for the Citys corporate operations.

Montral - Sustainable Development Plan Montral made a commitment to reduce GHG emissions by 30% by 2020 during the fourth Municipal Leaders Summit on Climate Change, held in December 2005 in Montral. As a first step in this direction, in 2007, Montral adopted a plan to reduce its own GHG emissions by 20% by 2012.

Halifax - Climate Sustainable Mitigation and Adaptation Risk Toolkit The Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) has a Corporate Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Plan that targets a 20% reduction from 2002 GHG levels by 2012. New targets and commitments are being developed for 2020 and 2050. HRM is also working to reduce GHGs generated by residents, commuters, businesses and industry by 20% below 2002 levels by 2012.

Hamilton - Air Quality and Climate Change Action Plan Hamilton has developed a Corporate Air Quality and Climate Change Action Plan that provides a framework to help the City achieve the 20% target in its municipal operations by 2020. In 2008, the City released Phase 2 of the Corporate Air Quality and Climate Change Strategic Plan and in 2009 undertook an emissions inventory of Hamilton (corporate and community).
