T
he Fish Market Restaurant is bigger and better, and so is our new, updated and upgraded
catering menu. We now offer creative boxed lunches as well as gracious formal dinners.
There are backyard get-togethers and beautifully arranged hors d’oeuvres trays, hot and cold.
Showcasing Greek and Southern hospitality, we offer our famous Greek salad and homemade
baklava as well as fresh, fried catfish and real Key lime pie.
In short, we have all the ingredients for a good time — you pick the time and place and menu.
With a continued commitment to quality and convenience, we’ve spiced things up with
some brand-new dining extras. We now offer select wines, both imported and domestic
— many of them organic. And we feature the area’s largest selection of Greek wines. I’ve
gathered special containers and serving pieces from all over the world to showcase our new
dishes. You’ll love the beautiful ceramics and wooden bowls from the Anatolia region of Turkey and the antique and
handmade copper pieces from Athens and Istanbul.
Of course Birmingham’s freshest seafood is still the mainstay of this catering menu, but we’ve added lots of new
and exciting dishes to make your parties even more special. Our highly varied, inventive catering menu features
lamb souvlaki; bourbon-glazed chicken; herb-roasted Angus sirloins; chicken salad homemade with freshly cooked,
white-meat chicken; a variety of imported cheeses; and lovely artisan breads.
We still have the market-fresh sautéed crab claws, Greek Islands shrimp, and grilled grouper and yellowfin tuna
that we know our customers love. But we’ve added Greek meatballs with tzatziki, shrimp and crabmeat au gratin in
eggplant pirogues, Valencian paella, Jamaican black-pepper shrimp, oysters Bienville served in casserole, a snapper
Reuben sandwich, and spice-crusted monkfish with lobster sauce.
I’m extremely excited about a brand-new catering option — a special van equipped with a 48-inch charcoal
broiler that will allow us to cook seafood on-site for parties of any size. Think of it as a portable chef ’s table — it’s
entertainment that tastes and smells as good as it looks. And, of course, our catering trucks are refrigerated to
ensure that the food we bring to you is always wholesome and fresh.
We’ve designed specific menus for dinners, lunches (business and otherwise), formal and casual buffets, brunches
and picnics. We can put together a deliciously entertaining low country-style crawfish boil as well as festive or
formal cocktail parties.
And, as always, we’ll do all this at the fair price our customers have come to expect from us. Take a look at our new

Chicken tenders | Select, juicy chicken breast tenders expertly prepared. Choose crunchy Southern fried,
delectable Greek style or savory teriyaki. Each tasty variety comes with its own complementary, homemade sauce.

Prosciutto-wrapped scallops | Large, plump, fresh sea scallops, wrapped with Parma-style ham, are basted
with olive oil and spices and then char grilled. Served with a homemade sun-dried tomato and roasted pepper aioli
(garlic mayonnaise).

Kofte meatballs | A Mediterranean classic. Lean ground beef, flavored with garlic, mint, oregano and parsley,
is roasted into delicious morsels. Served with our famous tzatziki sauce.

Crab claws | Luscious and meaty crab claws are a favorite at any party. Offered either lightly fried or steamed
with spices and served with our delicious cocktail sauce.

Spanakopita | Deliciously crisp little pies! Spinach, feta cheese, garlic and spices are wrapped in phyllo-dough
triangles and baked to a golden brown.

Tiropitakia | This savory Greek pastry is fresh, creamy feta combined with garlic, spices and onions, then tucked
into phyllo-dough triangles and baked until crisp.

Miniature swordfish skewers | Tender and tasty morsels of marinated swordfish broiled to perfect doneness
and served with a traditional Greek skordalia (pureed potatoes with fresh garlic and olive oil) and lemon wedges.

Skordalia | An Old World delight of pureed garlic and cooked potatoes laced with lemon juice and extra virgin
olive oil. Delicious on crostini and the perfect topping for roasted or cold fish.

Taramosalata | Known as “fish roe dip,” this blend of tamara ( fish roe), fresh lemon juice, bread, minced onion
and olive oil is delicious on rounds of toasted bread.

Salmon mousse | A light and refreshing pâté of just-poached salmon, fresh dill, select spices and a dollop of
heavy cream.

Caponata | A classic Sicilian relish of sautéed eggplant, onions, celery and bell peppers spiked with red-wine
vinegar and garnished with capers and ripe olives.

Baba ganosh | A Persian recipe of pureed roasted eggplant, tahini, minced onions and our own unique selection
of spices. Goes well with any buffet.

Hummus | This Middle-Eastern blend of pureed chick peas, tahini, fresh-squeezed lemon juice, garlic and
olive oil is sure to please not only the vegetarians in your crowd, but also the whole party. Wonderful served with
crunchy pita triangles.

Crab and shrimp spread | Diced shrimp and succulent lump crabmeat combined with mayonnaise,
sour cream, minced chives and a sprinkling of parsley to produce a savory but delicate taste.

Eggplant dip (Melitzana dip) | This tasty Greek appetizer is made with tender eggplant, extra virgin olive oil,
a touch of garlic and a splash of fresh lemon juice. Simple and simply delicious.

Smoked-salmon spread | A delicate blend of smoked salmon, rich cream cheese, capers, fresh dill, minced
onions and cracked black pepper.
