2013 Spring Training: Making first start, and appearance, of the spring today. Was 2-12, 5.82 (69 ER, 106.2 IP) in 22 games, 18 GS, in first season with Marinersended season in bullpen. Optioned to AAA Tacoma following July 4 start-returned to Seattle Sept. 4was 2-6, 5.74 in 11 GS with Rainiers. Mariners scored 1 or 0 runs while he was in the game in 10 of his 18 starts; his 3.40 RSA was 2nd-worst in the AL. Mariners debut was 8.0 ShO IP vs. OAK on April 14.

Was 2-2, 4.65 with 1 save in 22 relief appearances with AAA Tacomaat time of recall, led PCL with 12.19 Ks/9.0 IP.

2013 Spring Training: Making his first appearance of the spring todayin camp as a non-roster invitee. Split 2012 season between Rancho Cucumonga (A), Chattanooga (AA) and Jackson (AA). Combined for a 6-4, 2.00 mark with 26 saves in 51 relief appearances between the three teams. Ranked T8th in the minors with 26 saves, including converting 6 of 7 opportunities with Jackson. Started season in Dodgers organization prior to being acquired by Seattle on July 30. Pitched for Peoria Javelinas in Arizona Fall League.

2013 Spring Training: Making his first appearance of the spring today. Split 2012 season between High Desert (A) and Jackson (AA). Was a combined 6-8, 3.51 in 27 starts between two clubs. Amongst Mariners farmhands ranked 3rd in strikeouts (134) and 7th in ERA (3.51). Was 2-5, 3.68 in 14 GS with High Desert and 4-3, 3.32 in 13 GS with Jackson.

2013 Spring Training: Making his first appearance of the spring todayin camp as a non-roster invitee. Split last season between Jackson (AA) and Tacoma (AAA). Began year in Jackson and held opponents scoreless in 21 of 24 appearanceswas 1-2, 1.14 with Generals Promoted to Tacoma June 22limited AAA opps to a .178 (23x129) batting average againstwas 3-3, 3.89 w/2 saves with Rainiers Pitched for Manati in the Puerto Rican Winter League and was 4-1, 3.24 in 17 games.

2013 Spring Training: Making his first appearance of the spring todayin camp as a non-roster invitee. Pitched for 5 teams in 2012: New Hampshire (AA), Sacramento (AAA), Trenton (AA), Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA) and Tacoma (AAA) in four organizations (Seattle, Toronto, Oakland & New York-AL). Appeared in a combined 44 games, going 3-3 with 9 saves and a 2.65 ERA. Acquired by Seattle from NYY (Ichiro trade) and was 1-0, 0.54 with 4 saves in 12 games with Tacoma. Pitched for Lara in the Venezuela Winter League (2-1, 1.50 ERA with 3 saves in 21 games).

2013 Spring Training: Making first 2013 Spring Training appearance. Went 5-1 with a 2.90 ERA (20 ER, 62.0 IP) in 49 relief appearances with A-High Desert in first professional season. Led the Mavericks in saves (15), while finishing 2nd on the team with 49 relief appearances...took over the closer role on June 15 and went 14-for-15 in save opportunities over final 28 appearances...limited opponents to a .234 average (54x231) with 77 strikeouts. Played for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League (1-1, 2.40) Selected by the Mariners in the 8th round of the 2011 First-Year Player draft.

Went 11-11 with a 4.43 ERA (75, ER, 152.1 IP) in 26 starts with Seattle in 2012also made 6 starts with AAA-Tacoma, June 13-July17, going 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA (11 ER, 38.0 IP) in 6 starts with the Rainiers. Posted career--highs in nearly every pitching category, including wins (11), starts (26), innings pitched (152.1) and strikeouts (67). Issued only 24 walks in 152.1 innings, 2nd-fewest in the Majors last season by a pitchers with at least 150.0 innings (Colon, 23) Acquired by Seattle from Texas along with Justin Smoak (inf), Josh Lueke (rhp) and Matt Lawson (inf) in exchange for Cliff Lee (lhp) and Mark Lowe (rhp) on July 9, 2010.
