your University. Avantika is one of the brightest well-rounded students I have come across in my career yet. I have known her well for the past seven years and have interacted with her more closely in the past two years after her appointment as a Peer Trainer. Avantika displays exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and integrates with teams of diverse compositions in no time. She is adept at dealing with diversity and is at home discussing myriad topics with her peers and juniors. This is what led to her selection as a Peer Trainer to start with. She was chosen for the Life Skills Education Orientation Program for Peer Trainers and has been sufficiently trained in life-skills, to deal with peers on issues such as Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive health, Anger Management, Family Values and Peer Pressureand Anti Bullying. She took the initiative to participate in the debate Sex Education: Yes or No of the Times Now news network and spoke about the necessity of sex education amongst todays adolescents. She has also participated in several other discussions on the same subject, which were aired on national television at prime time. Avantika was selected to represent the school in the International Student Conference,2011 The conference included students from schools around the world and was a platform for the discussion of prominent adolescent issues.. She has participated in many leadership events, notable among them The Rotary Blood Donation Camp 2011 The Community Development and Leadership Summit 2010 and 2011 The Interact Annual Symposium in 2011 The Student Leadership Camp, Modern School, 2011 The Economics Annual Symposium 2010 and 2011 Avantika has the distinction of winning the Rotary Youth Leadership Award last year. She has successfully attained the Bronze Standard , Silver Standard and Gold Standard of the International Award for Young People (formerly called the Duke of Edinburgh Award) in 2011. She was awarded with these for her completion of an extensive number of hours of community service, adventure, dance and athletics. Avantika has consistently performed well in class as reflected by her winning numerous PTA Awards for excellence in academics as well as sports in various classes. She received distinction in two subjects in her CBSE 1Oth grade All India Secondary School Examination. In sports she has excelled in both athletics and basketball representing the Delhi state and the school at national level since she was in the 6th grade, which is truly commendable. It is worth mentioning that she has participated in six national athletic competitions and been awarded the best athlete for five years at the interschool level. In the Delhi state competition she received the 1st position for two years. In Basketball too, she has participated at nationals level and been a winner at the Zonal Level for six years and runners up position at the All Indian Public School Competition. In fact Avantika boosts of having received 17 Gold 16 Silver and 10 Bronze medals. It is no surprise that she has been given the position of Sports Captain of the school

She has a natural proclivity towards taking initiative and has successfully organized many cultural and community service activities and events in school and handles her multiple streams of work with competence.Her compassionate nature led her to take initiatives in the field of community service. She has volunteered time with the Mobile Crches, drug deaddiction center and at at MUSKAAN for all an NGO which helps underprivileged women over the last 2 years. She took great initiative at organizing and increasing the number of donors at the Blood Donation Camps at our school. She was awarded the Vinod Dikshit Award in 2011, by the Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs. Shiela Dikshit, for undertaking and completing with distinction a project titled Health Sector of Delhi. She made a documentary on the topic. She has been an active organizer of the Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture among Youth (SPIC MACAY) Intensive in school since 2006.Her teacher praises her excellent organization skills and team spirit. As the Vice President of the Economics Society she is the driving force behind student motivation and the smooth functioning of the society. It is for her leadership qualities, organizational ability, team working skills that she was appointed Prefect not only in high school but also at middle and junior school levels.
