Reach Your Personal Goals Fulfill Your Purpose-Of-Life Meditation - General Guidelines
1. One of the main objectives in meditation is to remain conscious at higher levels; i.e. raising our Level-ofConsciousness. Raising the Level-of-Consciousness by itself would result-in maximizing pleasure sensations and minimizing pain sensations, because Ignorance breeds pain and Awareness breeds pleasure. 2. Another objective is to raise your Physical Consciousness to the slower Alpha frequencies and Theta frequencies, with little to moderate practice. At these higher levels-of Physical Consciousness, our Physical-Emotional-Spiritual Energy-Conservation is maximized and Energy-Drain is minimized.

Position of the Body
3. Falling asleep during a meditation does not result in the same beneficial outcomes. It is important for the novice not to get too comfortable. Getting too comfortable in a meditation can easily lead to sleep. 4. In the beginning, the best position is a sitting position with: 1. feet apart and flat on a pillow or wooden surface on the floor, 2. spine somewhat straight, 3. head slightly lowered, 4. hands on your thighs, with palms down, 5. eyes lightly closed, 6. without straining eyes, eye-brows, forehead, or any other Physical-Body-Part. 7. remove foot-wear, eye-glasses, empty all your pockets, [need not remove jewelry].

8. loosening each-every Physical-Body-Part by shrugging off stiffness from each-every PhysicalBody-Part one-by-one, 5. Other postures that can-be used are: Padma-Asana, Sukha-Asana, Vajra-Asana, Shava-Asana, in the same order of preference. Dont use a posture that may cause Stress-Tension-Fatigue-Pain because that would distract your Focus-of-Attention. 6. Do not slouch your body, and do not cross your legs, ankles, or arms. This will only make you uncomfortable later on during the meditation, causing you to shift your focus away from the Internal Spiritual Experience. With time and continuous daily practice, you will be comfortable in your suitable posture.

Duration of Meditations
7. The duration of the meditation can be 15 minutes to 45 minutes, or depending on a your daily time allowance and purpose of the meditation. Ideally, you will meditate no less than fifteen minutes, four times a day.

When to Practice
8. Early Morning [3 am to 6 am] is the best time to practice meditating since your brain frequency is more than likely at Alpha, and most people around you asleep. 9. The second best time to practice is at night before sleep. Since meditation will take your body, brain and mind in the direction of sleep, getting too comfortable in your bed when meditating may result in you falling asleep. 10. If your goal is to meditate, then consider sitting up in your bed for the meditation part, and after meditating, get yourself more comfortable and drift into sleep. If your goal is to go to sleep, you will probably do so faster and easier starting off with a meditation in ShavaAsana. 11. The third best time to meditate is some time after lunch. If you have the luxury of having the time to meditate early in the afternoon, then this is a great time for long and deep meditations. We all have a natural tendency to feel a bit sluggish during the early afternoon hours, and meditation can serve to energize you and catch you up with the needed rest.

How To Meditate
Step 1: Preparation Step 2: Withdrawal of your Focusof-Attention from the External [Macro-Cosm] to the Internal [Micro-Cosm] Step 3: Ascension of your Focusof-Attention to higher levels-of-consciousness Step 4: Coming out from Meditative-State. 12. STEP 1: Begin with the eyes closed so as to eliminate most of the external stimulus, and to "kick in" a sleeplike pattern that will help encourage deep, healthy relaxation. 13. With eyes closed your focus can easily shift from be ing external towards being internal, initiating the process. The Ten Deep Breaths Method is ideal for preparing your Physical-Body for meditation. All you need to do is close your eyes, take a deep breath, and enter your meditation. 14. Usually one would find it easier to Practice-Meditation when one is fresh after good sleep and having taken bath. How-Ever, taking bath is not an essential criteria in the Practice-of-Meditation for evolutionary progress through the journey of life, as our Physical-Body plays no part in the Spontaneous Practice-of-Meditation. 15. STEP 2: Once you are prepared for meditation it is time to withdraw your Focus-of-Attention from the out-side to the in-side; and in-to your Sixth-Energy-Center. 16. STEP 3: By the time you get to this step, your body is extremely relaxed, your brain frequency is slow, and your mental state is at its deepest and most cooperative-receptive. This makes Step 3 ideal for any kind of mental programming. 17. Programming can be done in the form of self-talk, such as in the case of affirmations, goal setting and problem solving, formula-type techniques, and guided imagery mostly used for self-healing. 18. How-Ever, when you are in Meditation for your PurposeOf-Life [Evolution]-Fulfillment, then you should avoid any mind-programming and resort to Request-Prayer in the Holy-Feet of The Lord Almighty.

19. When your Focus-of-Attention comes within the direct effect of the Energy-Force-Field of The Lord Almighty, then your Soul-Mind would be Spontaneously attracted by The Lord Almighty, towards higher Centers of Consciousness; just like a small magnet is attracted by a large magnet Spontaneously when the small magnet is placed within the Magnetic-Field of the large Magnet. 20. Your effort is required only to shift your Focus-ofAttention, which is scattered in the out-side world [Macro-Cosm] through your 5 Sensory-Organs [Ears, Eyes, Nose, Tongue, Skin], to the in-side world [MicroCosm], at the Sixth-Energy-Center, where the EnergyForce-Field of The Lord Almighty can-be perceived with minimum distractions. 21. This effort can be made by simply changing your Focus of-Attention from all out-side worldly associations to the sound-current of OHM which is pervading the entire universe, bellow its level-of manifestation.

22. You have done this shifting of your Focus-of-Attention when in your school-college class-room, when physically you appeared to-be focused upon the teacher, but in reality only your Physical-Body was focused upon the teacher and your mind was busy thinking-imaginingdreaming about some-thing else. 23. When a child is conceived, its Focus-of-Attention [SpiritForce] connects with the Physical-Body at the SixthEnergy-Center and from there the Spirit-Force radiations carry out the building of the Physical-Body from out of the first cell that came about through inter-action between the mothers and fathers Physical-Body cells, using the Physical Nutrients provided by the PhysicalBody of the mother, through the umbilical cord. 24. At the time of child-birth its Spirit-Force descends down from the Sixth-Energy-Center to the Fourth-EnergyCenter from where the child performs all the wakefulstate activities through its Five-Sensory-Organs [Ears, Eyes, Nose, Tongue, and Skin]. 25. 26. Each-every inter-action would result-in pleasuresensations to-the-extent-of Harmony between the interacting Energy-Force-Fields and result-in pain-sensations to-the-extent-of Dis-Harmony between the inter-acting Energy-Force-Fields. 27. Since each-every Energy-System [Animate-Inanimate] is unique, no Energy-System can-be in Total Harmony with any other Energy-System. Therefore all the different Energy-Systems and Energy-Forms have a unique [different-from-each-other] Energy-Frequency. 28. If an Energy-System becomes in Total Harmony with another Energy-System, then they would Spontaneously merge in-to one Energy-System, as they would have the same Energy-Frequency. 29. Therefore the Spirit-Force [Soul] can merge in-to the Supreme-Soul [The Lord Almighty], only when its free from the bondages of the Physical-Body-Mind.

30. The Spirit-Force that was attached with Mind so it could not experience the Blissful-State of which its capable of, when merged with the Supreme-Soul [The Lord Almighty]. Therefore it had to-be sent down in-this-Partof-the-Creation [The Solar-System] to bring-about gradual separation, from the bondage of the mind, through Practice-of-Meditation, which can-be practiced in Human-Form Only. 31. The Lord Almighty could have brought-about the separation of the Spirit-Force [Soul] from the bondage of the Mind, by HIS own Power-Force, but because anything done forcibly results-in pain, The Lord Almighty would not ordain such pain-full separation. 32. The Creation was therefore Graciously Ordained so-that the Spirit-Force [Soul] can be redeemed-salvaged from the bondage of the Mind, with minimum pain and maximum pleasure that can-be experienced in-this-Partof-the-Creation. 33. When the Spirit-Force [Soul] descends down to the Fourth-Energy-Center in wakeful state, it looses all the memory of its origin as-also its Purpose-Of-Life [Evolution] in-this-Part-of-the-Creation.

34. The Spirit-Force [Soul] and the Mind bring-about a suitable Physical-Body of a Plant, or Animal, or Human; where-in it can inter-act with other Harmonious EnergySystems to experience maximum pleasure and minimum pain. How-Ever, as no two Energy-Systems can-be in Total Harmony, the inter-actions always result-in some degree of pleasure and some degree of pain. Viz. when they interact they go through polarization [increase the intensity of their Energy]; and ionization, [exchange ions with each-other] that makes them weaker-disturbed because the ions exchanged are to-the-extent-of DisHarmony [Pain] i.e. differences. 35. When the Spirit-Force inter-acts with the out-side world through the medium of the Physical-Body and Mind, it experiences pleasure-pain cycles due-to: the inherent nature of the inter-actions, the inherent Dis-Harmony between different Energy-Systems, as-also the inherent Dis-Harmony between the Spirit-Force [Soul], the Mind, and the Physical-Body. 36. So long as the Spirit-Force [Soul] remains detached from the Supreme-Soul and attached to the Mind and the Physical-Body, it can-not experience pleasure; free of pain.

Wandering Mind and Physical Sensations and Consciousness


50. During your meditations it is very common for your mind to wander. This is normal. When you find your mind wandering simply bring your attention back to whatever you are doing and continue where you left off. Occasionally, you will even loose awareness, and even enter sleep. This too is normal. With practice, this will happen lesser by the week-month. Although concentration and focus will be enhanced through time, your mind's wandering nature will never go away completely.

51. Because everybody is unique, the Physical-Emotional sensations experienced during meditation may vary from person to person. It can be anywhere from a feeling of heaviness to a feeling of weightlessness. You may even have the sensation of floating. Often, during deep physical relaxation, you may experience a sense of desensitization, and feel as if your body is no longer there. All these and other experiences and sensations are indicators that you are doing just fine. 52. If you experience Stress-Tension in any part of your Physical-Body then you should immediately come out of Meditation by slowly opening your eyes, and drinking water, walking about a few minutes, splashing water on your face and hair, or simply postpone the Practice -ofMeditation for some time. You can revert to Meditation as-soon-as you are again comfortable. 53. Stress-Tension are experienced because of our inadvertently straining, concentrating in part of the Physical-Body. As Meditation is resorted to for separating our Spirit-Force [Soul] from the bondage of Physical-Body-Mind, by using any part of the PhysicalBody, we create a blockage in our process of redemption-salvation.

Deep Breathing Method
54. Before meditating, you will get into a comfortable position; you will then close your eyes, and take the first deep breath. 55. First Breath: The first deep breath is used to initiate the relaxation process and to learn to relax your body from head to toes in a short period of time. With practice, the first breath will become a trigger mechanism for relaxing your body fully and completely from head to toes. After taking the first deep breath, say to yourself mentally, "Body, it is time to relax." 56. The first deep breath is for physical relaxation, and it is achieved by relaxing one part at a time. Part-by-part relaxation or fractional relaxation is done by simply focusing your attention on different parts of your body, usually starting with your scalp and going slowly downward one part at a time until you reach your toes. 57. As you focus on each part of your body relax all tensions and ligament pressures, and place them in a deep state of relaxation that will go deeper and deeper with every breath you take. 58. When you do The Deep Relaxation Exercise for the first time, it may be helpful for you to first tense the muscles of your body tightly, and then relax them. This can help establish a clear distinction between tension and relaxation that will make it easier to learn to relax during the exercise and in the future when you practice relaxation exercises or meditations. Start From the Head and Move Slowly Downward: 59. Concentrate on the skin covering your head. Feel the skin that covers your scalp. Feel the vibration of the skin caused by circulation, and then relax and release all tensions and ligament pressures from your scalp and place them in a deep state of relaxation that will grow deeper and deeper with every breath. Taking your time, do the same for the rest of your body; forehead, the tissue surrounding your eyes, cheeks, jaws, neck and throat area (Externally and internally), shoulders, arms, hands, back, spine, chest (Externally and internally), abdomen (Externally and internally), thighs, knees, calves, feet, and toes.

60. Remember to take occasional deep breaths, in through your nose as if filling your belly with air, and then out, exhaling through your nose. Breathe in this manner anytime you want to enter an even deeper more relaxed state. It is a wonderful feeling to be deeply relaxed, a very healthy state of being. 61. When you reach full and deep physical relaxation, make a strong mental impression of the experience. Allow your body, brain, and mind to memorize how it feels to be deeply relaxed so that you can create it quickly, and easily in future meditations. 62. Second Breath: The second deep breath is taken once you are physically relaxed, and it is used for relaxing the mind. You will be able to learn to relax your mind in a matter of seconds. After taking the second deep breath, say to yourself mentally, "Mind, it is time to relax."

63. To learn to relax mentally all you need to do is to think of tranquil and passive thoughts and scenes. Any thought, and scene that makes you tranquil and passive helps to relax your mind. You may want to imagine yourself at the beach on a nice summer day when the breeze is just right, the temperature is perfect, the sounds are soothing, the sand is healing, and the sun is energizing. 64. Spend enough time enjoying the scene, experiencing this imagery with all of your mental senses, and fully associated. Any tranquil or passive image you choose to experience, do so with full association. You may take 2 to 5 minutes or longer doing this. Occasionally, remind yourself to breathe deeply. Do note that time may be somewhat distorted when meditating. 65. Third Breath: The third deep breath is for establishing your starting point for programming. After taking the third deep breath, say to yourself mentally, "I am now at Starting Point, feeling relaxed and ready to begin my programming."

74. Countdown Deepening Exercises- Further deepening may be done at any time by counting on a descending scale from 100 - 1, 50 - 1, 25 - 1, or 10 - 1, and saying the word "Deeper" between counts. By the time you reach the number 1, you will be at a deeper and healthier state of body and mind. Give the word "Deeper" the meaning of being deeper within or deeper in thought. As you go through the countdown, imagine or bring to mind the descending feeling you experience while in an elevator. 75. The fastest way to deepen any time during your meditation, is to take a deep breath and say to yourself mentally, "Deeper and deeper," or do a short countdown from 10-1, saying "Deeper and deeper" between numbers. 76. It is a wonderful, healthy feeling to be deeply relaxed. 77. In Closing - Meditation is done by choice, and is vital for overall well-being.
