Synopsis This is one of the core courses for students in International Affairs Management undergraduate programme. This course examines the structure of the Malaysian system of government and the major elements in the Malaysian political process. The discussion begins with a review of the historical background and evolution of Malaysian politics. An analysis of the formation and the workings of major institutions of government the monarchy, federal constitution, federalism, parliament, executive, judiciary and the state government - then follows. The final part of this course focuses on the electoral system and development of political parties in Malaysia.

In particular, the programme is aimed at enabling the graduates to participate in international issues in the areas of diplomacy, strategic studies, international political economy and international relations.
