Title: The Power of the Holy Ghost
Text: Acts 1:8- Ye shall receive power, after that
the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be
witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost parts
of the earth!
Read John 15:1-5 & 16
Intro:

- There is a common desire in the mind and heart

of humanity, and that is for POWER!
- I want to be in control, I want to be on
ownership of my self and surroundings.
- We have POWER!
- We have Saving Power
- Paul said “ That same spirit that raised Christ
from the Dead, dwell in you it shall quicken
your mortal body!
- Christ in you, the hope of Glory!
- We continually live well below the Power level
that God has intended for Us- the sons of God!

Section 1- Saving Power

A: Saving Power
- Eph 6 clearly tells us that the war we are
fighting in is not of Flesh & Blood, but that
of spriritual wickedness in high places.
- The battles you and I face, may carry the
disguise of flesh but the root cause is
warfare!
- If we are losing more battles that we are
winning, we need to go back to the source.
- Get under the spot where Gods power comes out!
- I GIVE YOU POWER! to overcome all obstacles
that you may keep and stay saved!

Section 2- Growing Power
A: Power to Become
- Jesus asked us to be ye perfect, as I am
perfect.
- The Holy Ghost give us the Power to Grow:
They that worship must worship in spirit and in
truth.
- We must learn to walk and talk in the spirit,
and that is where the Holy Ghost come in the
piture.
- Rmns 8:14
- Matt 10:20
- Rmns 8:26
- Rmns 14:17

B: Power to Overcome
- Overcoming sin
Titus 3:3-53 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish,
disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice
and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man
appeared, {love: or, pity}
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his
mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the
Holy Ghost;

I John 3:6- Whosoever abideth in Him, sinneth not

- We overcome the enemy by the blood of the lamb and the word of
our testimony.
- Overcome Sin, Flesh & Devil

2. Overcoming other obstacles

- Not only can we overcome sin through the power of the HG

- We have other stumbling blocks and hurtles that we must face
and get through and over.

Sickness, bondage, warfare, problems that arise in the assembly, family

problems.

- Victory is yours, if you exercise and live and walk and talk in
FAITH.

- Matt 19:26- with God, all things are possible.

- Mark 9:23- all things are possible to them that believeth
- John 14:26- Holy Ghost teaches all things.
- Acts 6:5- Stephen, a man full of faith and HG.
6:8- Full of power did miracles among the people.
- Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God- Rmns
10:17

Part 3 – Witnessing Power

- We have the power witin us, to WITNESS

- Witness through our speech, actions, attitude, character and
lifestyle.

A: The Command to GO!

- During his last days on earth, Jesus said “Go and Bring forth
Fruit” in John 15:16
- In Matt 28- GO YE!
- Witnessing Power is within us!
- It is clear, CHRIST DEALS WITH THERE HEART
- CHRIST SPEAKS THROUGH YOU AND I
- CHRIST SAVES!!!
- We are only the vessel.
B: Promises of the Holy Ghost
- Christ was clear about the issue of the use of the Holy Ghost.
- In John he says “ I am the vine, ye are the branches”
- IN John 15:1-2- Every branch in me, that barreth not fruit he
taketh away.

PROMISES:
- John 15:7 – We will receive what we request
- John 15:8- We will Glorify God
- John 15:8- We will be his disciples
- John 15:9- We will continue in His Love
- John 15:11- We will retain His Joy
- John 15:11- Our joy will be full
- John 15:14 – We will be his friend
- John 15:16- we will be the chosen of God

Conclusion

John 15: 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained
you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should
remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may
give it you.

- The original Greek for “Ordained”- means to place into, to

commit to, to set apart, or set forth!

- Deut 6:4- HEAR oh Isreal, the Lord our God is one LORD
- Mark 12:29 HEAR Oh Iseal ., the Lord our God is ONE Lord

Hebrew for HEAR = Shema

Hebrew for ONE= ECHAD

The last letter in the word (SHEMA) and the Last word (ECHAD)
where enlarged and spelled the word (WITNESSES)
