Michael Ochs, E-mail to Our Neighbors and Friends that

I sought to unseat the Alderman in 2009 (to which I was removed from the ballot for having my wife co-collect signatures with me when a wife cannot assist their husband, either the laws need to be changed or the laws were misinterpreted by the Aurora Election Commission). In 2011, I applied for the position due to the Aldermans resignation, but the position was given to a friend of the Aldermans, whom was woefully ineffective, inadequate, and effectively demonstrated the poor judgment that provided him the position. Finally, I sought the position of Alderman in this 2013 election. With all my experience, knowledge and passion, I am prepared to bring back honor to the position. With zeal, openness, determination, and integrity, I stand fully prepared to be your representative within City Hall while cleansing this Ward of the past toxic political agendas that burdened us with division, elitism, and misguidance. I have given you 8 years of blood, sweat and tears working to improve this Ward and this neighborhood, as a volunteer with no pay, no City voting power, minimal influence, seated in City Council as your Alderman would do a great and invaluable service to the 9th Ward, to this neighborhood, and to you specifically.

Recently, I met a fellow Candidate for 9th Ward Alderman, Matt Harrington. All five Candidates presented at a Wheatlands Homeowners Association meeting. His presentation was inspirational, electric and passionate to the interests, complexities and forward-growth of the 9th Ward.

Matt Harrington reached out to the residents with a broad-based but finely-detailed plan-of-action on goals, projects, initiatives, economic influx, neighborhood stability and growth, openness, cooperation with all residents, businesses, and stakeholders. Matt Harrington detailed his experience, history, and his political prowess that will serve the 9thWard expertly and will drive us forward out of its politically toxified existence and into its proper, mature & defined 9th Ward viewed with pride. Further, Matt Harringtons eloquence in presentation and his endless political experience will serve the 9th Ward effectively while suiting him perfectly to achieve all his goals within City Council. I was looking to become the best representative of this neighborhood and this Ward. In fact, I take my mission so seriously and with such fierce focus on the best interests of the 9thWard that I have actually resigned my candidacy and am throwing ALL of my support to fellow Candidate Matt Harrington. I have always promoted myself as being a neighbor first because I have such a passionate love for this neighborhood and this Ward unto resigning my candidacy for simply knowing Matt Harrington is the BEST CHOICE for Alderman. Please vote for Matt Harrington for 9th Ward Alderman tomorrow, Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 at the Aurora Public Library at Eola Community Center. Voter turnout will be VERY LOW, and only the top two candidates will continue to the General Election in April EVERY VOTE COUNTS!! !
